Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson hasn’t been the best judge of character when it comes to men. Vicki ditched her sweet husband of 20 years, Donn Gunvalson. Who didn’t love Donn?
Then the RHOC star dated alleged cancer scammer, Brooks Ayers. Brooks was beyond shady. Finally the couple ended that dumpster fire of a relationship.
Vicki’s boyfriend, Steve Lodge, popped the question in April of 2019. She announced her joyous news to the world on Instagram. She was pushing for that ring, hoping it would save her orange.
Vicki was offered a Friends of the Housewives position for Season 15, as was Tamra Judge. They both exited the franchise rather than take the demotion. After all, Vicki was demoted for season 14, and wanted a full-time position again.
On June 30, 2021, Steve announced in an Instagram video that he was running for Governor of California. Steve is an Army veteran and was also a homicide detective.
During Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen gave his Mazel to Steve and Vicki, and shared the video on his Instagram. Vicki commented on Andy’s post, “Omg @bravoandy you nailed it.” While Vicki was excited, her son, Michael Wolfsmith, was not enthused about the situation. At all. RHOC viewers have watched Michael and his sister, Briana Culberson, grow up. And watched doting mother Vicki embarrass them at every opportunity.

Queens of Bravo shared a screenshot of Michael’s response to his mother on Twitter. Vicki may want to take a seat. “Omg I can’t,” Michael wrote. “oh YES YOU CAN!” a follower responded. “Hopefully my mother doesn’t fund this disaster!!” he commented. Honestly, he’s not wrong to be concerned.
But weirdly, one of Vicki’s RHOC sparring partners came to her defense. In October of 2020, Kelly Dodd called Vicki a “pig,” and added that Vicki has a “gross, funky body.” Not to be outdone, Vicki called Kelly a “gold-digging harlot.”
The Instagram page Bravo Housewives posted, “Vicki Gunvalson’s Son Michael Wolfsmith Is Throwing Major Shade at His RHOC Mom’s Fiancé Steve Lodge.” Kelly sounded off in the comments. She wrote, “It’s sad. Her kids always throw her under the bus…”
I don’t know why Kelly is defending Vicki. Kelly was also just axed from RHOC, so she has more time on her hands. One thing is for certain–we haven’t heard the last of Kelly or Vicki.
