Kyle Richards Real Housewives of beverly hills after show

Kyle Richards Says That Sutton Stracke And Crystal Kung Minkoff Were “Speaking Two Different Languages;” Says Their Relationship “Gets Better Before It Gets Worse”

Season 11 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills welcomed some new faces. Sutton Stracke, who was a Friend of the Housewives last season, is clutching a diamond this time around. RHOBH alum Teddi Mellencamp recommended her friend, Crystal Kung Minkoff, for the show. Crystal runs a successful business, RealCoco, and is a married mother of two.

And Kyle Richards’ older sister, Kathy Hilton, signed on as a Friend of the Housewives. Kathy is hilarious. I can’t get enough!

During a recent episode of RHOBH, the girls went to Lake Tahoe. Kyle explained to Crystal and Sutton about her candid conversation with Garcelle Beauvais about the charity auction dust-up from last season. Crystal and Sutton began to argue, and Sutton said that she doesn’t see color.

Kyle was a guest on People’s Reality Check, and she dished on the tense dynamic between Sutton and Crystal. The host, Daryn Carp, asked Kyle what caused the duo to argue after Kyle mentioned her talk with Garcelle.

“I think that ummm…I really think that Sutton was not in the best place there honestly. And in that moment, she should have given Crystal the floor to talk and express herself,” Kyle said. “She was not in a good place.”

The actress continued, “And, you know, [Sutton] said, ‘I don’t want to talk about this.’ She was very defensive. And I think that sort of kicked off the relationship between the two of them,” Kyle shared.

It seems like Crystal and Sutton don’t vibe at all. “And there are going to be some you know ups and downs and it’s not that it gets worse before it gets better, it gets better before it gets worse,” Kyle remarked.

The host asked Kyle why Sutton was so triggered by the race conversation. Kyle said, “I was also trying to explain, you know trying to help, and sort of being the middle-man and you know make Crystal understand what Sutton was trying to say. Not that I agree.”

She continued, “But I know that back in the day, people would say, ‘I don’t see color’ as a way to say we are all equal. You don’t say that anymore. You know… and I know that,” Kyle commented. “And I knew, you know, that Crystal knew that and that’s why she asked that.”

Kyle stated, “So when Sutton was like, ‘No’ and got defensive I was like, ‘No. No. This is what she’s trying to say.’ But she shouldn’t say that.” I guess Sutton didn’t get the memo.

The RHOBH “OG” explained, “So it was just…honestly it’s so hard because some people online were like, ‘Kyle was agreeing with Sutton.’ No, it wasn’t that,” Kyle added. “I was just trying to be the narrator because they were speaking two different languages.”

Sutton later issued an apology to Crystal on Instagram. “Despite Crystal and my strained relationship at the time, it was disrespectful to interrupt her and not listen to her express her truth,” Sutton wrote. “I am sorry. I will do better and be better.”

Crystal accepted Sutton’s apology, and left a message in the comments. “Listening to one another and validating our different experiences and perspectives are how we will all grow as individuals, and as a society,” Crystal stated. “Thank you for that commitment, Sutton.”
