Kenya Moore Real Housewives Of Atlanta

Kenya Moore’s Halloween Costume Has Been Edited Out From Real Housewives Of Atlanta Following Controversy

Season 13 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta might have been a bit of a “snoozefest” if it weren’t for Kenya Moore doing what she does best — stirring the pot and being as messy as possible. Whether she was trying to expose who slept with Bolo at Cynthia Bailey’s bachelorette party. Or throwing low-blows back and forth with Drew Sidora, Twirl knows how to play the villain. We also got to see another side of Kenya — her crush on LaToya Ali. This brought out a playful side, especially in the midst of her split from Marc Daly. And she and Marlo Hampton buried the hatchet, which made Porsha Williams pretty upset.

However, one of Kenya’s worst moments occurred at Falynn Guobadia’s Halloween party (you know, back when she was still with Simon Guobadia and he wasn’t engaged to Porsha4Real). Kenya dressed up as a “warrior princess” in a culturally insensitive Native American outfit. She and Bravo apologized after the episode aired and at the reunion, even though she tried to bring Drew down for doing the same thing. However, Drew has a tribal heritage and wore a Native American outfit as part of a cultural celebration, so it ended up looking even worse for Kenya. But to be fair, this is far from the first time a Real Housewives has been called out for cultural appropriation or racist actions. And some of them didn’t even give half of the apology Kenya gave.

Bravo is taking the next step by re-editing the Season 13 episode to remove as many shots of Kenya in the offensive outfit as possible, Variety reports.

The episode was edited shortly after it aired. And, the new version is available on BravoTV.com, the Bravo app, and VOD.

Kenya is shown as little as possible, even when she argued with LaToya. The new version goes back and forth between shots of LaToya and various decorations. The original focused on Twirl.

This is also not the first time Bravo has gone back and deleted scenes that were offensive to viewers.

After Southern Charm took on a reckoning about racism last season, Bravo removed an entire episode that was filmed on a former plantation. It begs the question of what kind of conversations, if any at all, were going on prior to the episodes originally airing that allowed the offensive scenes to make it to our TV screens.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK BRAVO DID THE RIGHT THING BY RE-EDITING THE EPISODE? WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT KENYA AND THE NETWORK’S APOLOGY FOR SHOWING THE COSTUME?
