It’s early in Season 13 of Real Housewives of New York, and Ramona Singer is already hosting the ladies at her home in the Hamptons. What could possibly go wrong?
Leah McSweeney is already tight with newbie RHONY star Eboni K. Williams. Eboni is the first Black woman to join this franchise. It’s about time! Naturally, Ramona believed that Leah was jealous of her “immediate connection with Eboni.” That connection may have faltered a bit when Ramona referred to her household staff as “the help.” Eboni didn’t let it slide and handled it perfectly.
It was obvious that this will be a season of change for Leah. She is now sober, so the tiki torches at Ramona’s may be safe. Leah decided to convert to Judaism after feeling a strong connection to the religion during the pandemic. Leah also dropped the information on us that she and Rihanna DM each other. No big deal!
During the most recent episode of RHONY, Leah was upset that alum Heather Thomson was coming to stay at Ramona’s house. Don’t worry Luann de Lesseps–Heather is being housed in the dreaded lower level. Holla!
Leah pointed out that Heather insinuated on her podcast that years earlier, during a cast trip to St. Barts, Luann was present when “stronger drugs came out.” Leah thought that Heather had ulterior motives for hanging out with the RHONY cast, since she always insulted them in the press. At Ramona’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed-dinner, Leah literally ran down everything that Heather had said in the press. Yikes!

Heather stopped filming, allegedly because of issues with Leah. Heather stated, “I get assaulted this season. People were interested in putting me down, dragging me down and showing me who is the queen bee,” Heather remarked.
But Leah was also dealing with some family issues. During the Burning Man sound bath, Leah shared that her grandmother was at the end of her life. Eboni’s grandmother was also extremely ill, and this further bonded the duo.
In an Instagram post on May 25, 2021 Leah posted a photo of herself, Ramona, and Sonja Morgan from the Tiffany’s dinner. “It’s been very hard watching these episodes and reliving losing my grandma. This was by far the most challenging experience with the show thus far,” Leah wrote. “Showing up because the show must go on especially only with 5 of us but feeling so out of sorts and not having booze to escape!” That must have been so difficult for Leah with the other ladies drinking.

She added, “Thank you for being there for me @ebonikwilliams @sonjatmorgan @countessluann @ramonasinger. We still managed to have laughs and some fights. #RHONY #FuckYou2020”
Eboni posted, “We love you Sis” with a heart emoji. Luann also posted a heart emoji. Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga commented, “Love it!!”
On October 27, 2020 Leah shared an emotional post on Instagram about her grandmother’s passing. She wrote, “I still can’t wrap my head around the concept of you being gone. I may never be able to. You understood me in a way that most of the adults in my life never could.” Leah continued, “The end-of-life conversations we had are going to live in my soul forever. I know you would want us to not be sad but it’s impossible not to be.” What a loving tribute to her grandmother, Marie.
