Jen Shah’s arrest this week for alleged money laundering shocked Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans. Maybe for no other reason that she had the bravado to appear on reality TV and showcase her opulent lifestyle while supposedly running a telemarketing scam.
Shah-tastic Jen was more than enough without the alleged felonious dealings. Her outrageous tantrums and reactive aggression solidified a second season of the show. She polarized cast members and viewers alike. But everyone is now paying attention as to how this will play out, both on and off camera.
Bravo cameras managed to capture Jen as she left court on Tuesday. For once, the reality star was silent.
After posting bail, the conditions of Jen and her assistant Stuart’s release have been disclosed. Utah New reporter John Franchi tweeted the details.
The anchor for KSTU FOX 13 Utah wrote, “the judge set these conditions for Shah and Smith: commit no federal offense while on release, must appear as required, and no contact with co-defendants.”

International and domestic travel restrictions are included. There is to be, “no travel outside of UT except to appear in court in NY.” According to TMZ, Jen had to relinquish her passport as part of the stipulation.
Jen won’t be able to go on cast trip with the rest of the housewives. Surely, she can still film luxury shopping sprees? Not so. TMZ reported that Jen needs prior permission before using any credit cards. There is also a $10k cap on any asset transfer.

Jen’s “marketing company” is currently non-operational. Under the current restrictions, she cannot engage in any form of telemarketing.
Will Jen be able to continue filming RHOSLC season 2? She won’t be able to travel or show off a luxury lifestyle without a whole lot of irony. At least no one can take her personality away. But isn’t that why we watch anyway?
