Today is International Women’s Day. It’s a great opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the inspiring women in our lives. It should be a positive thing.
All day long I’ve seen heartfelt social media posts, commercials, and articles uplifting women. And then I saw Erika Jayne’s “celebration” of the holiday. Instead of doing something kind. She decided to insult her co-stars. I assumed that after the humiliating headlines that have surfaced in the past few months that maybe she’d be more humble. Perhaps, she’d be compassionate. But, nope. She threw some shade instead.
Erika shared a group photo of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ladies on Instagram. Sutton Stracke, Dorit Kemsley, Kyle Richards, Kathy Hilton, Lisa Rinna, Crystal Kung Minkoff, and Garcelle Beauvais were all in the picture.
Instead of saying something nice, she wrote “Heard it’s International Women’s Day… some in this pic I love and trust more than others. No shade, just truth.” Really? Considering how much (financial and emotional) support Erika needs these days, this caption is just not it, girl.
Lisa Rinna posted the same photo Erika did, but she actually included a caption that was appropriate for the occasion. She wrote, “I feel so blessed to be surrounded by Strong, Amazing Women! May we know them, May we be them, May we raise them!! #happyinternationalwomensday.”

Kyle responded with a tea cup emoji in the comments section of Erika’s post. Dorit and Lisa just clicked “like” on the picture.
A fan told Erika, “If you’re going to post about International Women’s Day, maybe you should only lift other women up or not say anything at all. Just a suggestion.” Someone else commented, “What a fucking weird caption.”
One person joked, “lol way to celebrate women.” Another person commented, “Great way to celebrate International Women’s Day. Shade another woman publicly. But, don’t say who so you seem interesting and mysterious. You’re neither.”

“You are the epitome of lifting people up,” someone sarcastically told Erika.
Erika, read the room. Don’t make fun of a day that’s just intended to encourage kindness and support. Don’t post a bunch of glammed up photos when we know your lifestyle was funded by money stolen from widows and orphans. The list goes on and on.
