Southern Charm has gone through quite the evolution in the span of the last few seasons. They’ve entered the modern era and left the good old boy vibes behind. Or at least they’re trying. They’ve also welcomed their first cast member of color, Leva Bonaparte to the cast.
Surprisingly, Leva and Kathryn Dennis ended up hitting it off despite their rocky start to the season. During her racist monkey emoji scandal, Kathryn leaned HEAVILY on Leva to talk her through things. She also got a new image consultant. Let’s see how that turned out!
Us Weekly reported on an interview with Kathryn where she discussed the status of her friendship with Leva after the season came to a close. She shared, “I think at the reunion, it kind of got tense with the yelling and stuff. I had a moment, but I checked myself. Leva and I were full a lot of personal emotions attached to all of this and I think that once we realized that we just decided like, ‘Let’s hug and let’s move on.’”
The reunion episodes were definitely heated between these two women. Largely due to Kathryn’s handling of the backlash she received throughout the season. It seems that Kat’s image consulting has been working double time though. Not to mention she has a new boyfriend, Chleb Ravenell, who has cracked her world wide open.

Kathryn wasn’t shy at the reunion or in the interview about how dating a Black man has opened her eyes to her former behavior. She said, “I think there’s really no class to take on this matter it’s just experience. Being around Chleb and his family and friends that are mostly Black, I learned the way they do things and move and the conversations they have amongst each other and sometimes the struggle.”
She added, “I get it and it simplifies it for me actually being around more diversity. I’ve been trying to educate myself on a lot of things I really didn’t know about and that’s been a huge help.”

Kathryn hasn’t been shy about her long term intentions with Chleb. Now she’s talking more short term. She said she “hopes” her new boo will join for Season 8. She said “we’ll see” what happens. Kathryn also explained, “I was afraid to ask that question about if there was another season, would you want to be involved at all if I did it. I mean, he’s open to it because he really does handle stress and adversity well.”
Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves about whether or not this confirms a Season 8. Kathryn made sure to add that Chleb would “definitely going to be in [her] life” whether or not the series was picked up.
