Other than bringing out the green-eyed monster in Teresa Giudice, what does Melissa Gorga bring to Real Housewives of New Jersey? Oh, right, a fake baby storyline, a fake sister storyline, a fake restaurant, and is there anything else I’m forgetting? Oh, yeah, the constant Envy shout outs and that time she advocated for marital rape.
Well, she does bring Joe Gorga’s comedic relief (and occasionally offensive remarks), but what storyline does she actually have? That’s what her former RHONJ nemesis Jacqueline Laurita wants to know.
According to ShowBiz CheatSheet, Jacqueline recently discussed this on the Bravo Afterthoughts podcast. Before sharing her thoughts on Melissa, Jacqueline shared that the only New Jersey Housewives she keeps in touch with are Kathy Wakile, Dolores Catania, and her sisters-in-law Caroline Manzo and Dina Manzo. I would love to know what she thinks about the Dina hitman drama.
Jacqueline claims that she doesn’t watch all of the RHONJ episodes, but she does make sure to watch the reunion episodes every season. She remarked, “Last season I watched the first three episodes and then the reunions because I feel like I don’t have time to watch TV. But the reunions kind of tell me the whole story from the whole season. So I try to catch the reunions, that’s the best part.” Fair enough.

While she never appeared on the show with Margaret Josephs, Jackie Goldschneider, or Jennifer Aydin, Jacqueline does have some opinions on them. She likes Jackie since she’s “very smart and intelligent.” I’m just going to overlook the fact that she used two obvious synonyms as if they’re describing two different attributes. Jacqueline thinks Jennifer and Margaret are “funny” women who can hold their own when there’s drama.
Despite her strong dislike for Teresa, Jacqueline admits that Teresa “is always good TV,” but she doesn’t get why Melissa is on the show. Same here.
Jacqueline said, “I don’t really know Melissa’s purpose on the show. I mean she looks good.” THE SHADE. And the accuracy. Love her or loathe her, Melissa seems to always look amazing.

Without naming names, Jacqueline commented, “I feel like everyone is not really being honest and true to themselves. That’s kind of the vibe I’m getting. I think if everyone just kept it real, then it would be, like, an even better show, you know?” YES. I miss the early, more authentic Real Housewives of New Jersey episodes.
