In the premiere episode, Heather Gay certainly seemed like the most traditionally Mormon cast member of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. But looks can be deceiving. In her tagline, Heather states, “Just like my pioneer ancestors, I’m trying to blaze a new trail.”
That is because Heather was once married to “Mormon royalty,” whose family allegedly received a large inheritance from Howard Hughes. In fact, his family is worth a cool billion dollars.
But after going through a divorce, Heather is redefining her life. Heather owns the successful medspa company, Beauty Lab + Laser.
She is also diving into the RHOSLC drama from the jump. Heather attended BYU at the same time as co-star Lisa Barlow 20 years ago. But Lisa denied remembering Heather. (How very Mariah Carey of you, Lisa!)

Lisa added that the one thing she does remember is that Heather was a “good time girl” who broke the Honor Code at BYU. Heather was shocked and maintained that she never broke the Honor Code in college. In fact, if Heather could go back, she would be a “good time girl” this time around.
After Lisa snubbed Heather at Meredith Marks’ birthday soiree, Heather came for Lisa during the ladies’ ski trip. Lisa finally issued an angry apology and wiped the slate clean…for now.

In an interview on US Weekly’s Getting Real with the Housewives podcast, Heather shared the Housewife husband that she is crushing on. The man she has eyes for is Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards’ husband, Mauricio Umansky.
“I would take Mauricio in a boat, anywhere. On a plane, on a train!” Heather quipped. You better keep an eye on your husband, Kyle! I feel like Mauricio is probably near the top of the list of desirable husbands from the current crop of contenders.

Then, Heather opened up about her difficult 2015 divorce. The couple split after 11 years of marriage. Heather said that her ex-husband is a “devout Mormon,” who was initially “hesitant” about her joining the reality franchise. He is now more supportive and will make at least one appearance on RHOSLC.
It will be interesting to see how Heather’s journey plays out this season. From the way she was eyeing the studly shirtless servers at Meredith’s party, she may be ready to embrace her inner cougar.
