Even though we are in the midst of a pandemic, that didn’t stop reality TV stars from thirsting it up for Halloween on Instagram.
Vanderpump Rules newbie Dayna Kathan decided dress up as the late Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg… but “sexy.” Yes, you read that correctly. Ugh. As expected, Dayna got ripped apart by Instagram users who saw the costume.
Dayna captioned her social media post with “‘my mother told me to be a lady. and for her, that meant be your own person, be independent.’ -notorious RBG.” For the photo, she sat on a faux fur stole, wore lingerie, fishnet tights, black heels, gloves, and a collar to look more “judicial,” I guess. Sure, Dayna looked great, but the concept didn’t fly with many social media users.
One person commented, “If 2020 wasn’t bad enough we’re now sexualizing RBG.” Another person declared, “This is legit appalling. Disrespectful af. How can anyone think this is ok? Seriously embarrassing.” One person simply commented, “This ain’t it.” That’s for sure, yet this post is still on her page (as of writing) and she hasn’t disabled the comments section.

A fan told Dayna, “girl i love you and rbg but this is just cringey.” Agreed. Someone else said, “Totally disrespectful to RBG. I’m embarrassed for you.” Same here. An Instagram user commented, “Damn… this is so tacky.”
“This is disrespectful sorry dayna…” a fan commented on Dayna’s IG post. A different IG user clarified, “Ugh RBG did not mean this.”

Plenty of people slammed Dayna for wearing a costume that was in “such poor taste.”Another explained, “RBG used her intellect and tenacity to fight for the equality of women, not her body or sexuality. Body positivity and owning your sexuality are great things, but sexualizing a very recently passed honorable justice is disrespectful, tacky and just gross.”
Is Dayna gonna come out with an apology post? I sure hope so. This was not a good look, at all.
