After months of hype, we’ve finally seen the altercation between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard. It all went down at a winery where the ladies were set to celebrate Gizelle Bryant’s fashions literary award.
As Drake once sang (many summers ago), “it went from zero to one hundred real quick, real f*cking quick.” The fact that it escalated to that level following a conversation that wasn’t any more heated than what we’ve seen all these years is mind blowing. Sure, the tension had been building for years, but it just got way out of hand. It was tough to watch Monique refuse to let go of Candiace’s wig for what felt like forever. Karen Huger was in a panic seeing her two closest allies in the group go at it. Robyn Dixon stood by smiling. Ashley Darby missed the whole thing because she was in the rest room. I watched it, hit “rewind,” and then watched it again, and, even still, it’s jumbled mess to watch and decipher.
During a recent question and answer session on her Instagram Stories, Monique responded to a fan who asked, “Did you notice when [Gizelle] pushed you during the altercation?” Wait. what?
I just want to know who these fans are submitting questions. Is it the same person running Monique’s fan page that got her in trouble a few seasons ago?

Monique responded, “So, I did not know until I actually watched the whole altercation on video that someone else pushed me. I thought that was Candiace when she reached across, so I don’t know if that was Gizelle or Robyn, but that was definitely a push on my shoulder and that definitely escalated it even more.”
However, Candiace saying “get out of my face” was part of what (ironically) set this whole thing off. This whole altercation was just so unnecessary.

Another Instagram user asked, “Could you hear Candiace calling you a hood rat bitch? I would have lost it.”
“Yes, I heard that along with a lot of other things, which is why I went back outside. I was like pissed,” Monique shared.

She recalled, “I said, ‘Look, you want to fire it? Let me go ahead and finish her off,’ but oof, I was through the roof.”
Girl, no, this is not the kind of response thats gonna help this situation. Then again, it seems like many Real Housewives of Potomac viewers made up their minds about who to side with before this fight even aired on TV.

This is far from the last time that we are going to hear about this altercation. It is bound to dominate the season. Well, unless Michael Darby messes up again, which is very likely.
