It was so difficult to watch Dorinda Medley on Real Housewives of New York this season. Watching her go after Tinsley Mortimer many times over, taking low blow after low blow just wasn’t entertaining. It was cruel and unnecessary.
During one scene this season, Tinsley revealed that she was moving to Chicago (i.e. leaving the show). In response Dorinda said, “I’ve got a turkey baster — maybe try and have a baby.” How crass. In response, Tinsley told her, “You just look like an evil, mean person.” True. No wonder she got fired, I mean “left the show.” She just crossed so many lines.
Page Six recently reported that the remark was the final straw for Real Housewives producer Andy Cohen, who welcomed his own son via surrogate in February 2019.
A supposed inside source told the outlet, “It was part of sealing her fate.”

However, that wasn’t the case, at least according to Andy himself who commented on Page Six‘s Instagram post. According to Comments by Bravo, Andy just commented, “This is not true” in response to a screenshot of their article.
Even if it’s not true, there were so many reasons Dorinda needed to go. The woman just wouldn’t listen to anyone. She basically held her hands over her ears and just started screaming less-than-humorous one-liners (which she probably hoped to put on a mug or t-shirt in the near future).

She went from being someone we looked forward to seeing on camera to a person who just grated on our nerves week after week, at least for me, anyway. Plus, she really had no storyline.

The comment was undoubtedly not OK, but it was just one strike of many for Dorinda.
