It wouldn’t be an episode of Real Housewives of New York if there wasn’t speculation about the women’s drinking. This week we got the extra twist of Ramona Singer telling Dorinda Medley to go to AA. Yeah, that would make anyone upset. So how does Dorinda cope? By getting another drink and slamming Luann de Lesseps for her mug shot… AGAIN. In the end, there was a truce to never speak about each other’s drinking. Ummm…
The women have been talking about drinking nonstop this year. Ramona thinks she is the only New York Housewife without an alcohol problem. Meanwhile, Dorinda, who we all saw encourage Lu to have her first drink on camera, has said they’re just not a cast that’s great a day drinking. Well, that’s putting it lightly! Dorinda has also said this season was a tough one to watch. For you and me both, girl.
On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live Luann was asked about how she feels when Dorinda constantly brings up her past issues with alcohol and the law. Lu shared, “I don’t think it’s about cutting deep. I think it just says a lot about her that she has to make someone feel bad about themselves and shame them in order to make herself feel better.” Pretty poignant, since that’s exactly what we watched her do in Mexico.
Luann said, “I don’t think it’s about me I think it’s really more about her.”

When asked how long the viewers could expect the truce to last Lu sort of skirted the question. She remarked, “It’s a problem because every time you bring up the drinking she gets angry and so it’s very hard to talk to Dorinda about the drinking.” Yea. We’ve noticed.
She continued, “I personally don’t want to label myself. I’ve been in a good place and I want to stay in a good place.” Truly, Lu has come so far with her drinking and attitude towards the other women. Yea, yea, yea, she still talks about her music all the time, but she’s so much less insufferable.

Wait! Did someone mention music? Of course, Luann added in her interview, “My life is not about drinking. My life is about so much more. With everything that I’m doing. Working on music.” We know girl. We know.
