Below Deck Mediterranean Star Captain Sandy Yawn Plans To Open Restaurant In Jacksonville With Yacht Crew As The Staff

Reality TV stars are quick to take on new ventures, gimmicks, and social media exposure.  Some of them seek out casting roles to promote their wares.  They have goals that outlast their estimated fifteen minutes of fame.

Although, Captain Sandy Yawn is clearly going to be a permanent fixture on Below Deck Mediterranean.  Despite the job security, she too is putting her name on a new project.  Captain Sandy is opening a restaurant.

And why not?  Captain Sandy has spent enough time lurking in the galleys of her yachts to know a good chef.  And after the horror story that was Mila Kolomeitseva’s gulag cooking, Sandy is ever present around her chefs, assessing their skills, creativity, and ability to work under pressure.

Then there’s the service aspect.  Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier has been getting by with the minimal amount of enthusiasm and Sandy is very well aware of the difference that someone like Bugsy Drake can make.

Maybe Sandy can pluck some of her crew off season to work at her restaurant.  Her business plan is to do just that.  Sandy will be hiring yacht crew and yacht chefs to service her place.

“The idea is to use yacht crew for service and yacht chefs as chefs and make it yacht style,” Sandy told First Coast News.

The restaurant will be located in a historic firehouse in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.  Sandy wants to keep the firehouse motif as she turns the space into a restaurant and rooftop bar.  Sandy plans to call it Firehouse At 618 Adams.

When asked why she chose Jacksonville to open a restaurant, Sandy replied, “my sister has created this school in Jacksonville and the community’s been really good to her.  So I would love to be able to see this city become the next Fort Lauderdale.  The superyacht hub.”

Sandy plans to open Firehouse At 618 Adams in the summer of 2021.  One thing is for sure, the table settings will be amazing.
