It’s only been one day since the reality show world was rocked to its core. In case you live under a rock, Vanderpump Rules stars Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were fired for racist behavior. The target of their behavior was ex-cast mate, Faith Stowers, who is black. A few years ago, both Stassi and Kristen falsely accused her of stealing and called the cops on her. Their claims were completely baseless and cruel.
In addition to Stassi and Kristen being fired, Bravo also made the (correct call) to fire two more VPR stars. In the same announcement, Bravo confirmed that newbies Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni are donzo. Honestly, this was long overdue considering we found out mid-season that Max and Brett have a history of racist tweets.
Fans are angry and they aren’t the only ones. Bravo stars are speaking out in the comments of Bravo’s Instagram announcement of the firings. The post itself reads: “Bravo and Evolution Media confirmed today that Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni will not be returning to Vanderpump Rules.” This was an incredibly generous way of saying they were all canned.
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes commented,”Well alrighty then! Now we have a few more questions to ask about in other areas where there’s a major difference. Should we talk privately or publicly.” Castmate Queen Porsha Williams also chimed in with the clapping hands emoji. Kenya Moore said, “This is the start of change!”

Shahs of Sunset’s Reza Farahan also commented with an emoji. He showed his approval with the raised hands emoji.
Real Housewives of Potomac’s Candiace Dillard had the most to say. Her comment reads, “This is a great step as well but I think it would be helpful to accompany these terminations with a thorough explanation as to why they were let go. Especially given the fact that their racial indiscretions took place months, and in some cases years ago and they were allowed to keep their jobs. Having an honest conversation about why BRAVO is choosing not to associate with people who display implicit and explicit racial biases needs to be a part of the conversation if pop culture leaders (like my network) are going to help heal The wounds of racism in this country.”

The newest Potomac housewife, Wendy Osefo, who will be featured full-time next season, also expressed her gratitude. Wendy said, “Thank you! The next step should be for @bravotv to create a working group comprised of Black talent from @bravotv and executives to co-create a shared vision of inclusionary practices to ensure equity within the workplace. #BLACKLIVESMATTER.” Gizelle Bryant commented, “very good to know.”
Finally, Mariah Huq of Married to Medicine commented her thoughts on what should happen, saying, “Actually I think a town hall meeting would be most appropriate. No more private meetings that’s the problem! Too many different conversations going on.. We need transparency. Actions speak louder than words! Value the creative, loyal, beautiful, talented, savvy, UNPARALLELED, Black creators, producers & talent as we have Always Valued You! #InTHAtORDER #GoodEvening.”

There’s no doubt as this sinks in, more stars from the Bravo family will likely have their say too. Despite how upsetting the situation is that brought us here, I’m glad to see our favorite Bravolebrities coming together.
