Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute have a lot of people to answer to at this point. The original cast members of Vanderpump Rules have landed themselves in very hot water. It’s worth noting that Stassi has a problematic history of making racially charged comments on her own podcast. But the latest to surface is an incident that was featured when Stassi was a guest on the podcast “Bitch Bible”. On the episode, Stassi bragged about her actions against former castmate, Faith Stowers.
The incident was something Stassi was happy to talk about, not realizing how serious it was. Stassi and Kristen launched a smear campaign against Faith by calling the cops on her. They falsely accused her of stealing. Thank god the cops didn’t take them seriously. But the damage to their careers is done, and rightfully so. As of today, Stassi has lost sponsors, her PR firm and her agent. We have yet to see the extent of how this impacts Kristen’s pockets. However, breaking news: they’ve both been fired from the show. Most likely, whatever deals they had in the works will fall apart as well.
Whether it’s sincere or not, both Stassi and Kristen apologized for their actions on Instagram. Too bad they didn’t actually reach out to the person they harmed – Faith. According to Us Weekly, a source says, “Kristen and Stassi didn’t reach out to Faith directly.” The source continues, “But Jackie Schimmel, host of the ‘Bitch Bible’ podcast where Stassi told the story, apologized privately.” The episode has since been deleted.
Faith, the only woman of color on the show, left the series in 2016 after only one season. She recently talked about what Stassi and Kristen did to her on an Instagram Live. “There was this article on Daily Mail where there was an African American lady. They showcased her, and I guess this woman was robbing people. And they called the cops and said it was me. This is like, a true story. I heard this from actually Stassi during an interview.”

Faith remarked, “It was just funny, because they thought it was me because it was a black woman with a weave. So they just assumed it would be me, and they called the cops on me.” Faith admits of being the only black cast member,“It was a lot.”
Despite not reaching out to Faith directly to apologize, Stassi is trying to do some damage control. “I did not recognize then the serious ramifications that could have transpired because of my actions. What I did to Faith was wrong. I apologize and I do not expect forgiveness,” she wrote on her Instagram. Kristen said she is “taking some time to really process what I’ve been seeing, feeling and learning”.

Stassi and Kristen might be apologizing, but their actions are what they should really be judged for. VPR has long been known for its cast members’ bad behavior. It’s one of the reasons why we watch. But I think this time, they finally went too far.
