We’ve met a lot of chefs on Below Deck. The turnaround is not as high as the deck or interior crew positions, but most of them have left after one season. Sometimes, as in the case of Mila Kolomeitseva and Leon Walker, they don’t even the last the season. In both cases, Ben Robinson stepped in to finish the job.
Ben is the OG chef of the franchise. He was cast in season 1 of Below Deck, back in the days of Adrienne Gang. When Adrienne left, the glorious Kate Chastain filled the Chief Stew position and the rest was divine reality TV history. Kate and Ben had a fun, flirty rapport that also included a lot of dry wit and sarcasm. Ben also has my approval for turning down Below Deck Mediterranean chief stew Hannah Ferrier. Ben decided to leave yachting for a while after finding love on board with Emily Warburton-Adams. He has been quiet about his love life since they broke up in 2017. Now, Ben is sharing a new romance.
According to Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Ben’s Instagram reveal happened on May 22 when he shared a photo of himself with Kiara Carbal wearing matching bathrobes. It looks like the two love-birds are quarantining together at the LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort in Naples, Florida.
Kiara also appeared in a music video that Ben posted to Instagram. He wrote, “I haven’t been cooking much lately so I wrote a song about my bird. Hope you like it.”

Fellow Below Deck crew mates are sharing their approval of the new couple. Anastasia Surmava, who temporarily took over in the galley after Mila left said, “you guys look so happy.”
Colin Macy-O’Toole added,”great pics.” Even Ben’s ex-girlfriend Emily had to admit that Ben and Kiara look “lovely” together.

Comparing Emily and Kiara physically, it does look like Ben has a thing for younger blondes but the age difference wasn’t a problem for Emily. She defended the couple when interviewed for Life After Bravo saying, “he’s very happy with Kiara anyway, so that’s good. I’m very happy for him.”
Kiara has also spoken up about the age difference between her and Ben. She responded to a comment on his Instagram page saying, “guys…he’s 39, I’m 26 years old. I’m with Ben because he’s smart and I love him.”

Ben hinted about his new relationship in January when he told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live Below Deck 100th episode celebration that he was seeing someone.
He said at the time that, “there is a girl that I like at the moment. We’re trying to take it slowly. So we’ll see what becomes of it. But she’s a friend, and we’re having a good time together.”

Kiara spilled the beans in March after sharing IG photos of herself and Ben in an embrace. She captioned the photo, “besties for the resties.”
Does Ben’s romantic situation mean that he will not be returning to yachting and to our favorite show?
