Vicki Gunvalson Claims She Cried “Every Day” Filming Real Housewives Of Orange County, Predicts Ratings Will Drop Because Of Her Departure

Does the OG of the OC have a case of bitter oranges? Vicki Gunvalson made her unceremonious exit from The Real Housewives of Orange County at the conclusion of last season, and has wasted no time since she left bashing, belittling and other bad-mouthing the show that made her a reality TV legend.

On her podcast (because remember during the Season 12 reunion when she declared, “I don’t do podcasts”? Yeah, we do too…), Vicki opened up about her wildly vacillating emotions about saying goodbye to her life as a Housewife. She made a rather stark prediction about how the show will do without her.

“My feelings have been all over the map and some days I’m like, ‘OK, good,’ this is the first year in 15 years I don’t have to cry every day,” the former RHOC star admitted during the most recent episode of Whoop It Up with Vicki. “When it’s either airing or filming or my feelings are hurt about something and then I thought, ‘I’m not ready not to cry anymore.'”

Vicki said, “It was part of the blood in my veins. It was like a natural high, filming and being a part of the cast and doing all of the press afterward. It was just part of my DNA.”

“I loved doing it,” she added of her 14-season run in front of Bravo’s cameras. “So then I got back to being bitter and being fortunate that I had that opportunity. And, now, I’m kind of in the middle of the road. I’m not sad and I’m not happy.”

Vicki also admitted to getting seriously petty on social media after seeing some fans suggest they would boycott the show now that she and BFF Tamra Judge have lost their oranges. “I love Bravo, but they don’t love me. So, when somebody said something about the show is going to go down without you, I’m like, ‘Just boycott it!'” she said.

Vicki said, “It was 10 or 11 or 12 o’clock at night after I got done working and somebody said, ‘The show is not going to be the show without you and Tamra on it.’

Vicki continued, “And I said, ‘Just boycott it then.’ And it came out.”

However, the former Friend of the Housewives doesn’t feel bad about telling fans to stop watching. In fact, she basically doubled down on her assertion. She says RHOC can’t survive without her and Tamra at the center of the drama.

“It was a one-sentence in the fact that if the ratings are down, then they’re going to realize that they made a mistake,” she said. “I don’t really mean for them to be boycotted…The truth is, I don’t really believe that the show is going to be strong without us.”

It’s no secret that Vicki and Tamra‘s on-again-off-again friendship fueled both the drama and the cast dynamic for the show’s run of truly great seasons through much of the 2010s — from pitting themselves against nemeses Gretchen Rossi and Alexis Bellino and falling out over Vicki’s toxic relationship with Brooks Ayers to accusations of fake cancer, threesomes and being, you know, a con artist.

In fact, just a few years ago, it would’ve been honestly unthinkable to picture RHOC without the pair. It will be interesting to see if RHOC can reinvent itself after the OG and her bestie are gone.
