Joe Giudice Real Housewives Of New Jersey

Joe Giudice’s Deportation Appeal Has Been Denied

This is not surprising news, but it’s still major. Teresa Giudice’s estranged husband Joe Giudice has lost his deportation appeal. The news broke today, after he has been living in Italy since November 2019. Before that he was locked up in an ICE detention center after he completed his 41-month prison stint for wire fraud and bankruptcy charges.

Is this truly the end of the line for the Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member? Or is there some chance at an appeal?

Page Six broke the news and obtained court documents. The Giudice family lawyer James J. Leonard Jr. told the newspaper that they were discussing his options. He said, “We have always maintained that Joe Giudice belongs in the United States with his family, not in Italy. The immigration laws in our country are both draconian and antiquated and need to be revisited by forward-thinking members of Congress.”

Apparently, Joe committed an aggravated felony since the offense “involves fraud or deceit in which the loss to the victim or victims exceeds $10,000.” This provides grounds for deportation, but Joe and his legal team tried to find a loophole. They argued that “because his loans were later forgiven, there was no loss.” Even so, that line of reasoning did not work on the judge.

He was also denied an appeal because of two technicality arguments. As of this moment, neither Teresa or the former couple’s four daughters have commented on the news. Undoubtedly, it will be discussed on the next Real Housewives of New Jersey season in some capacity though. However, season 1 stopped filming due to the global pandemic. At the very least, there’s a slight silver lining for Teresa and her girls: they can experience this loss, privately without a crew present.

TELL US- ARE YOU SURPRISED JOE’S APPEAL GOT DENIED? DOES HE DESERVE TO COME HOME? IS THIS THE END OF HIS FIGHT? OR SHOULD HIS LEGAL TEAM KEEP TRYING?
