Dorinda Medley couldn’t even get through the season premiere of Real Housewives of New York without being massively triggered by Tinsley Mortimer and her supposed lack of authenticity. Tinsley is regularly accosted for not sharing the scope of her personal life on the show. Perhaps she just wants to treat the show like a job and her castmates as co-workers.
Us viewers can relive this Tinsley and Dorinda saga through fresh eyes. Leah McSweeney, as the new housewife, had yet to experience any of this. Can anyone blame her for being shocked by Dorinda’s remarks? Sonja Morgan tries to mediate between Dorinda and Tinsley but ends up starting drama instead. At Ramona Singer’s Hamptons sleepover, Leah and Dorinda had an escalating conversation. But rather than it blowing up, it earned Leah Dorinda’s respect for “holding her own.”
Sonja dished on the Tinsley drama during the Watch What Happens Live After Show. She admitted that Tinsley does distance herself from the group off camera. When asked if she had spoken to Tinsley since she moved to Chicago, Sonja replied, “Well, first of all, if you watch the show, we never hear from Tinsley. We never hear from the chick.”
So, is it valid for Dorinda to say that Tinsley is holding back from the group? But why is she so angry about it? Sonja opined, “Oh it’s not about that. It’s about, she’s just getting to know Tinsley the way that I do after like 30 years. She knows Tinsley after 2 years and she doesn’t like the bullshit. You know, the hiding the real truth. Not being a true friend. Not pulling her weight. And it’s like that.”

Sonja declared, “She’s a guys girl and we’re girls girls. So it’s just getting under her skin. [Dorinda’s] just starting to figure out that she’s been bullshitting us.”
In true Sonja style, she doesn’t fault her friend and defends Tinsley as well. Sonja said, “but I know Tinsley. She’s like that. It doesn’t make her a bad person.”
