Jill Zarin Started Program To Feed Medical Workers In New York & Florida On The Frontline Against Coronavirus

Former Real Housewives of New York star Jill Zarin has weathered some monumental changes in the past couple of years. In January of 2018, Jill’s beloved husband, Bobby Zarin, died after a long battle with cancer. Bobby was a fan favorite on the show.

About six months after Bobby’s passing, Jill started dating Gary Brody. The duo bonded over their mutual love of tennis.

Now, RHONY alum Jill has stepped up to show some love to medical workers during the coronavirus outbreak. In an interview with Page Six, Jill explained why she started the “Noshes for Nurses” program. “We hope this meal shows our frontliners that they are not alone and that the community has not forgotten them,” Jill shared. Jill’s daughter, Ally Shapiro, is working on the project with her mother.

Jill told Page Six, “Since last Saturday we have fed over 1,000 meals to nurses and hospital support staff.” So far, Boca Regional Hospital in Florida has received food. So have hospitals in New York, including NYU Langone, Mount Sinai West, Lenox Health Greenwich Village and Monterfoire in the Bronx, among others.

The former New York Housewife has partnered with Juice Press and chicken finger spot Sticky’s. They have both matched donations. Food has also been provided for the the drivers of City Harvest, who are still bringing meals to vulnerable New York residents.

Jill took to Instagram to provide more details about the program. “As a Jewish mother, I am appealing to everyone to help us feed the “moms and dads” of the hospital, the nurses. We must #feedthefrontline and take care of our hospital heroes who are taking care of our loved ones,” she wrote.

“The cafeterias have been scaled back and there is no food for the night shift. Local restaurants are closing left and right and aren’t able to deliver to the hospital. We are organizing how we can deliver food safely to these ER and ICU’s across the country,” Jill shared.

Jill shared, “We have already delivered meals to Boca Regional and are about to send to Elmhurst and Columbia P in NY and St Johns in Santa Monica.”

She added, “Please donate whatever you can, we need to show them they are not alone in this fight! #noshesfornurses #linkinbio to donate to our GoFundMe.”

According to Page Six, Jill’s friends, podcast host Heather McDonald and Millionaire Matchmaker star Patti Stanger, have each contributed $1,000 to the cause through GoFundMe. I love this idea! Kudos to you, Jill, for starting this program.
