Real Housewives of New York star Ramona Singer has been keeping busy during this coronavirus outbreak. Ramona is self-isolating in Florida with her daughter, Avery Singer, and ex-husband, Mario Singer.
Unfortunately, in March, Ramona was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Since she has a weakened immune system, Ramona is grateful that Mario has been lending a helping hand. Mario even cooks for the family. Did you really expect that Ramona would cook during her self-isolation period? No way!
As entertaining as Ramona is in insolation, we can now watch her in action when RHONY returns for Season 12. Bethenny Frankel, who departed the franchise ahead of this season, recommended Leah McSweeney be cast on the show. The newbie Housewife has her own clothing line, Married to the Mob. She also writes a monthly column for Penthouse, and has a podcast, Improper Etiquette.
And it sounds like Leah and Ramona have an interesting relationship. In an interview with toofab, Ramona talked about getting to know Leah. “I really got to know her at my home in the Hamptons,” Ramona said. “It was my idea to have everyone at my home in the Hamptons right in the beginning, so we could all get to know the new girl Leah and bond together. Of course, when we’re under one roof, all shit happens, you know that right?” Oh yes, Ramona. We know, and we love it!

“With Leah, she gets a little out of control … and I end up being like her mother,” Ramona revealed. “I basically adopted her as my surrogate daughter and because of that I hold her to another standard, which is very high. You’ll have to see how I conflict with her, the banter between us and what happens, it’s pretty interesting,” Ramona added, “I never had that with any housewife on the show, probably because she could be my daughter.”
Leah seems to have a different spin on Ramona’s motherly role. Leah told New York Post, “You have to understand, my mother is only a couple years older than her. I was going through some issues with my mom during the show, which everybody will see, and I think that my emotional outburst with Ramona had to do with a lot of my own issues with my mom.” Is that some shade about Ramona’s age?

“Ramona took me under her wing,” Leah shared. “She took a liking to me right away, but she also, I felt, was hard on me and holds me to a different expectation. Maybe she sees [in me] herself when she was younger?”
If Leah keeps mentioning Ramona’s age, she will see the infamous “Singer stinger” come out. But it sounds like she may have already experienced it.
