Even with all of the warnings and plethora of information, there are still a lot of people who are not taking the recommended safety precautions during the coronavirus pandemic. One of those people is Gregg and NeNe Leakes‘ son Brentt Leakes.
And, NeNe called out her son, very publicly, about not taking this seriously enough.
In a recent Instagram Live session, NeNe ranted about her son Brentt. The Real Housewives of Atlanta OG said, “First of all, I’m upset with my youngest son. I’m upset because he had been doing good. He had been staying in since this whole thing started. The last couple days, he was like ‘I really want to get out and go ride around.’ His dad and I were just like ‘OK, just ride around, get in your car, come back, do social distancing, don’t talk to anybody, blah blah blah.'”
Spoiler alert: he did not follow her instructions. NeNe shared, “Today, he asked his dad if he could go out again. When I called him, I could hear other guys in the background. So, I know that he was around guys. I’m really getting pissed off.” I don’t blame her. Who would have thought that I would 100% agree with NeNe, but she’s so right about this one.

NeNe said, “He could have me or Gregg sick. And, so that’s my whole thing with this. A lot of the young people don’t seem to understand how serious this is, especially for someone that has had some sort of health issue in the past.”
NeNe shared, “Many years ago, I had blood clots, embolisms, in my lungs. One side of my lungs had collapsed. I feel like I could still be prone to something that affects your lungs.” She also reminded her followers, “Gregg had cancer in the past and I don’t want him to get sick.” Very understandable.

The RHOA star emphasized, “So, you know, I’m on here, not only am I going to be screaming at Brentt, I’m talking to some of the young people who have said some of the same things that Brentt has said to me. He said to me that ‘You guys are just reading too much stuff.’ He doesn’t understand how serious this is. It’s very serious. I’m so upset by it.”
NeNe told Gregg to talk to Brentt and straighten him out. Otherwise, NeNe claimed that she would tell their son to stay somewhere else during the pandemic.

In another Instagram post, not aimed directly at her son, NeNe wrote, “I’m really getting pissed off that so many people are not taking this serious because it hasn’t directly affected them or someone they know. People are hurting and losing love ones. A lot of young people are just not taking it serious because you wanna hangout! YOUR LIFE should mean more than F’n hanging out!”
NeNe concluded, “You see the date keep getting pushed further & further because of the non-believers! We at April 30th now. THIS IS REAL!”
