The last season of Vanderpump Rules could have easily had the alternate title Everyone Hates James Kennedy. They were all against James Kennedy, including Lala Kent, who was finally accepted by the “in crowd” among the cast members. This season, there are too many feuds to count, but at least there’s some good news: Lala and James have finally made up.
After James accused Lala of “sleeping with a fat man who pays [her] rent” during that infamous rant that was “not about the pasta,” these two are both alcohol-free and friends again. It seemed like that would never happen, but it does seem like they are genuinely cool these days.
During an episode of Lala and Randall Emmett’s podcast Give Them Lala… With Randall, James was their guest, but Randall was in Puerto Rico filming a movie while Lala and James recorded from Lala and Randall’s house. Randall remarked, “Real quick question. Babe, can we ask James to, because one of my best friends, his name is DJ Sinatra, and he DJs all over the world. He’s DJing our wedding. Do you think James would jump in for a half-hour special set for us for the reception?”
Lala responded, “I don’t know. Why don’t we ask him? James?” I mean, he was on the line. James answered, “I would be honored” and he promised to deliver “James’ greatest hits.” And I’m hoping that includes a “Top Man” live performance.

After asking, “Are you serious?” James got choked up. He admitted to the couple, “I’m honored. I’m gonna tear up.” Lala replied, “I love you, brother. We both do.” This is such a far cry from the James who was poking fun at Lala and Randall’s infamous feud with 50 Cent. Or even the James who read Randall’s low-scoring movie reviews during his Vanderpump Rules confessionals.
Randall commented, “So, it’s happening. It’s set, James. You’re doing a set for us in the middle of the reception and you let us know.” James couldn’t believe that he was back in Lala’s good graces in such a major way. He kept exclaiming, “Oh my god. Oh my god.”

Lala told her fiancé, “Rand, he is over here all in his feelings about this. He’s hyped.” James emphasized, “I’m hyped. Thank you. Thank you guys so much. I’m honored.” And he also admitted, “I’m nervous now. I gotta get this all ready.”
Lala and Randall are slated to get married in April, but with Coronavirus on the rise, it’s unclear if the original plans will remain intact.
