Below Deck cast member Tanner Sterback seemed to have zero interest in Simone Mashile when he found out she had a crush on him. His exact response was a long pause followed by “Ah, that’s dangerous.” However, he had no chance with Kate Chastain, so he moved on to his next option. After many drinks, cigarettes, and a puke session, Tanner decided to give Simone a chance and he eloquently told her, “You wanna sit down and then I’ll hook up with you?” And at that moment, it was on.
They made out at the bar, “cuddled” in a bunk bed on the Valor. And, the next day, Tanner told everyone he “went down on Simone last night.” So is that all that happened between the yachties?
In an episode of the Below Deck After Show, the crew discussed Tanner and Simone’s hookups. Simone recalled, “Man, I thought Tanner was fine as hell.”
Tanner recalled why he went for Simone even though he was into Kate the moment he became interested in Simone. Tanner said, “Honestly, once you hear someone has a crush on you, you look at her differently. You start to talk to her a little bit more and are a little more flirtatious. You pick up a vibe and everything. She’s a cool chick. She is a cool, cool girl. She’s herself. She is who she is and she’s fun.”

An off-camera producer asked Tanner, “Do you remember how you picked her up? Does that work for you?” Tanner responded, “It has. It worked right there, so yeah. It’s definitely a passing grade.” I guess if we are speaking in terms of “pass or fail,” yeah, sure, it “passed.”
A producer asked Simone, “Does a line like that normally work for you?” Simone admitted, “No, it doesn’t. But, it wasn’t about what he was saying to me. It was about what I wanted from him. I’m attracted to this guy. My loins were like ‘get in there.'” Oh, wow. That’s a lot to unpack.

Then, Simone claimed, “I’m just having fun, making out with this guy. This is great, but were not gonna do the damn thing. You know?” And that’s when my girl Courtney Skippon said what we were all thinking, “But, you did.”
Nevertheless, Simone insisted, “No, we didn’t. I did not have sex with Tanner, OK? Explicitly to everyone in this world, that did not happen.” Courtney added, “Louder for the people in the back.” Interesting.

During the same After Show episode, Rhylee Gerber commented, “Don’t f*cking tell me that you went down on somebody. You don’t know me.” Agreed. Tanner justified his comments as “guy talk” before he declared, “I don’t want to kiss and tell. I don’t like to kiss and tell.” But, that’s what he did.
