Below Deck viewers and the crew members were shocked by the Abbi Murphy’s engagement via text message during last night’s episode. Yes, that’s right. In case you missed it, Patrik, the captain that Abbi referred to as her “f*ck buddy” popped the question via text message. He said he loved her, suggested that they get married, and it was just simple.
Abbi’s crew members were confused by her revelation, especially Ashton Pienaar who acknowledged that he had been trying to hook up with her this whole time. Spoiler alert, everyone: Abbi and Patrik did tie the knot.
Abbi broke the wedding news on social media this morning. On Instagram, she confirmed, “Yes… we actually got married.”
She revealed, “The wedding was at a town hall in Plymouth, MA. We are wearing home-made rope rings made by my dad’s gf’s elementary school student. My dad was there and it was a beautiful, meaningful and simple ceremony.”

She concluded, “We didn’t want or need a fancy wedding because we only needed each other in that moment. Now we are happy, sailing, living in Greece.” Honestly, good for them. It’s a refreshing change of pace from the weddings that are all about hashtags and million pre-wedding parties just to get attention.
On Twitter, Abbi wrote “Sorry not sorry the way it all happened was unconventional.”
