Christmas has officially moved to the month of October because we have been given the gift of Temptation Island season two! And yes, this is the same show that originally aired in the early 2000s, and was rebooted last year.
Last season had incredible drama and was a true rollercoaster ride for all of the couples involved. One relationship in particular, Kaci Campbell and Evan Smith, was doomed as soon as they arrived on the island. Kaci kept her dates friendly and fun, and Evan immediately fell in love with another woman, which he left Kaci for in a heartbreaking moment at the end of the show. So how can they top that this year?
Entertainment Tonight dropped the season two trailer and it is a doozy. We have four new couples who really want to be on TV believe that going to a beautiful island to be tempted by gorgeous singles will actually save their relationships. More like, it’s a free pass to cheat and get a free vacation! The only thing it will cost is your dignity…
If you haven’t seen the show before, here’s a quick recap. Four couples “at a crossroads in their relationship” arrive on the island to “answer the question, are we meant to be together?” Then they get separated and live in different houses with the singles who are there to “tempt” them.
As always, it starts out pretty fun at first. Everyone is snorkeling, cliff diving, parasailing and jet skiing. Living their best island life. Then the drama kicks in. A cast member said, “I’m feeling things that I’ve never felt before. And to find someone to share that with, it’s amazing.” Ruh-roh.

And some couples cross the line as they are shown making out with other people. Of course, there is the obligatory hot tub scene, where things look like they got a little too frisky.
One of the singles asked season two cast member Gavin Rocker, “Do you think your girlfriend is the one?” He then replied, “As of right now I can’t answer that question, not with an honest yes.” Sucks to be his girlfriend, Esonica Veira right about now.
Then the tears start and everyone seemed to regret coming onto the show. A cast member admitted, “I may have thrown away a four year relationship.” And another, Kate Griffith, tearfully said, “This was supposed to be the fast track to get us where we needed to go, not the fast track to break up.”

I’m sure there’s even more drama that didn’t make the cut. I just hope it’s as crazy as last year, as there were a ton of surprises, including an engagement. So maybe there is some hope for the couples after all? I guess we’ll soon find out!
