Before 2019, Felicity Huffman was best known as one of America’s most celebrated actresses. The Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee was renowned for her iconic role as Lynette Scavo on the campy television show Desperate Housewives. And for her touching turn as a transgender woman in the film Transamerica.
In March of this year, Felicity took on a role she probably never imagined she would be playing. She became the face of the notorious college admissions scandal, along with actress Lori Loughlin. Felicity pled guilty to fraud for paying $15,000 to boost her daughter’s SAT scores. She was just sentenced to 14 days in jail, one year of probation, 250 hours of community service and fined $30,000. Obviously, casting Felicity at this point might be a bit tricky, at least until she completes her sentence.
Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen was recently asked if there might be a place for the former Desperate Housewife as one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Andy told US Weekly, “I never thought about that. You know, I don’t know what her personality is…she doesn’t seem like she’s going to be leaning into becoming a Housewife.”
True, but you never know. Stranger things have happened in the world of reality television.
Felicity has some of the qualifications of a potential Beverly Hills Housewife. She is married, famous and lives in Los Angeles. And at this point, she is probably in need of a job.
Andy did not completely dismiss the idea of Felicity becoming a Housewife, stating, “I think that’s an interesting idea, though. I think she’s well-liked in the community.” Of course, being “well-liked” in the community might be a detriment to becoming a Housewife!”

Let’s just have fun for a moment and imagine if Felicity actually did become a Housewife. Would she fit in the with the ladies of Beverly Hills? Several of the women are also actresses–Denise Richards, Lisa Rinna, and newcomer Garcelle Beauvais. Whoops–I almost forgot Kyle Richards, who will soon be making a career comeback in the new Halloween film. Halloween today–an Oscar tomorrow!
What else might Felicity have in common with the women of Beverly Hills? Let me think, let me think. Oh yeah–she is familiar with the court system. Several of the RHOBH ladies have been caught up in embarrassing legal matters recently. In fact, Dorit Kemsley and hubby PK Kemsley probably could find their way to the court house blindfolded by now.
Erika Jayne has supported hubby Tom Girardi throughout his legal battles. Kyle has remained largely silent on the real estate lawsuits of hubby Mauricio Umansky, but that is probably for the best as she is known to freeze up under the slightest bit of pressure. Denise recently settled a $20,000 lawsuit with American Express.

Maybe the lawsuit ladies could learn a few things from Felicity on legal protocol. She is someone who made a huge mistake, but has seemed to handle everything right after her arrest. It will probably only be a matter of time before she resurrects her career. Hollywood always loves a good comeback story. The jury is still out on the legal fates of the Kemsleys, Umanskys, and Girardis, however.
We all know the likelihood of Felicity becoming a Housewife is pretty slim. But, can you imagine the possible tag lines if it actually happened? How about, “I did my time, now it’s my turn to shine.”
Or maybe, “Crime might not pay–but at least I pay my bills.” I am sure Dorit would love that one!
