Joao Franco and Hannah Ferrier butted heads during most of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 3. They started getting along at the end and seemed to be cool for most of Season 4. There was even teeny moment of possibility that the two Sirocco crew members might hook up. That didn’t actually happen, but it would have been an interesting storyline for sure.
Joao has been on a redemption tour since his messy Season 3 love triangle, but it hasn’t been going so well. On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, Joao discussed his messy interactions with Hannah and Aesha Scott.
A viewer asked Joao, “Where do you stand with Aesha and Hannah after calling both of them out on Twitter?” Joao revealed, “I don’t talk to either of them.” That’s not surprising. Joao slut-shamed Aesha and questioned her intelligence several times throughout the season. Joao tried to be a changed man to rehab his image in front of the cameras, but he reverted to the old Joao whenever the liquor started flowing.
Joao also told Andy Cohen, “Aesha blocked me.” Again, that’s not surprising. He treated her very poorly. However, Aesha didn’t let much get her down all season. She handled the stressful working conditions and crew member insults better than all of the cast members this season. If Aesha blocks you, you know you really screwed up.

However, Joao tried to spin their issues in his favor. Joao claimed, “We were friends afterwards and she kind of jumped onto the bandwagon saying I ‘put women in a box,’ which is absolutely not true. I think when she got a little bit of backlash off of that, she took a step back, but then she blocked me. But, we were friends after the show.” She probably just saw the insults Joao hurled at her during his on-camera interviews.
Hannah’s issue with Joao stems from, you guessed it, slut-shaming comments. This guy never learns, does he? Joao recalled, “It was a comment I made here about crew being with crew. ‘You don’t miss your chance. You miss your turns.’ is what I said. I got a bit of backlash. I did apologize to her in a message. Then, she made it public on Twitter.” Because you made fun of her in public, Joao.

Andy asked, “Did she accept the apology?” And Joao revealed that she did not. And who could blame her?
