Looks like Gina Kirschenheiter‘s divorce just took a turn for the worse.
On Tuesday, August 27, newly filed court documents claim that Matt Kirschenheiter, the Real Housewives of Orange County star’s estranged husband, is now requesting spousal support and even revealed Gina‘s salary for her first season as a Housewife.
According to an article from People, the court documents allege that the RHOC newbie was paid $63,000 by Evolution Media (the production company behind the show) and $5,450 by NBCUniversal (Bravo’s parent company), making a grand total of $68,450 for Season 13 of RHOC.
This number sharply contrast the figures used to establish the Kirschenheiters’ divorce settlement and custody agreement last month. Earlier this month, Gina was awarded primary custody of the former couple’s three kids, as well as nearly $10,000 per month in child support and spousal support payments. In those documents, Gina listed her annual contribution to the marriage as just $30,000, less than half of her RHOC salary.

For his part, Matt is alleging that he was forced to resign from his job as a financial account manager as a result of his recent arrest for domestic abuse. He now claims to be unemployed with no salary whatsoever and is now requesting spousal support of his own.
Though Matt has never appeared on camera — his former employer forbid him from participating — the Kirschenheiters’ marital woes have taken center stage in Gina‘s storyline since she joined the show in Season 13. Last season, the Long Island native spent the majority of her screen time defending her now-ex-husband and refusing to explain the reasons for her divorce to the other ‘Wives, while simultaneously moving into her Coto de Caza home’s tiny casita.

However, during last week’s episode Gina confided in co-star Emily Simpson that Matt began an affair shortly after the family moved to Orange County, and he was still seeing the other woman as recently as last Valentine’s Day.
“I thought I was doing the right thing to protect my kids,” Gina tearfully explained in her confessional during the scene. “And that’s, like, all that really matters to me. Like, I don’t want my kids to think that their father’s a bad person, ’cause he’s not…and I don’t want to be the reason that anyone would look at him badly. So it’s just hard.”

Since the scene was filmed, the couple attempted a short-lived reconciliation. However, Matt was arrested in June for allegations of abuse and domestic violence against Gina and their divorce has now been finalized.
