Tamra Judge Does Not Think Emily Simpson’s Marriage Will Survive Reality TV

I was going to start this article by listing all the divorced Real Housewives, just to show how tough it is to be on reality TV and remain married.  But listing all the happily married couples would literally take less time and space.  Is that because reality TV stars are generally pretty insane (and I mean that in the nicest possible way, of course)?  Or is it because the strain of having cameras in one’s face 24/7 is just too much for a marriage to handle?

Its a classic chicken/egg dilemma.  What comes first?  The toxic mess of a marriage or Bravo cameras?

Speaking of a toxic mess, Tamra Judge recently told Us Weekly that she does not believe Emily Simpson’s marriage will survive reality TV.  Tamara has one failed reality TV marriage under her belt and has borne witness to many more, so she knows the warning signs when she sees them.

To be fair, it doesn’t exactly takes an experienced eye to see that Shane and Emily Simpson are unlikely to make it to the finish line.  First of all, he proposed over some kind of IM system.  At work.  And they had never even been on a date!  If a proposal via instant message doesn’t say “I’m not willing to put the time and effort into making our relationship special and meaningful now or in the future,”  I don’t know what does.

Look, not every proposal needs fireworks and Cabo a la Lala Kent and Randall Emmett, but put a little thought into it!  I mean, even Jax Taylor slipped a ring into his underwear and got down on one knee.

But, bottom line, Shane is just kind of a jerk.  I took the bar (*cough* and passed the first time *cough*) and studying for it was stressful.  So, I get it.  To add to the stress of studying, Shane has a bunch of little kids running around and cameras up in his face.  He also has the extra pressure of having failed once.  Still, that is no excuse to be a garbage human.  He can’t even be bothered to extend common curtesy to his wife.

The way Shane treats Emily reminds me of the total disdain that David Beador used to have for ShannonI’ll never forget the time that Shannon was talking to David about her weight loss efforts, and David opened the kitchen pantry, pulled out an extra-large bag of chips, and started munching away.  It was like a metaphorical middle finger right to her face.

That’s what it felt like when Shane refused to attend the birthday party that Emily threw for his parents in Shane and Emily’s home.  Like Shane pulled a big ole’ bag of sour cream and onion out of the pantry and started munching away while Emily was making lettuce wraps.  He might as well have sent her a “not thinking of you, ever, except with contempt and unabashed hatred” card.  Does Hallmark make those?  Probably not.

I hope Tamra is wrong. It’s always sad when a marriage falls apart, especially when little kids are involved. But, I don’t think Tamra is wrong about this one.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK MATT AND EMILY’S MARRIAGE WILL SURVIVE?  HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE WAY MATT TREATS EMILY?  DO YOU THINK STUDYING IS AN EXCUSE TO BE GONE ALL THE TIME?
