Cast Revealed For Dancing With The Stars Season 28- Photos From The Announcement

After an unusually long hiatus, Dancing With The Stars is FINALLY waltzing its way back into our lives. We LOVE this show. It gives celebrities in need of spotlight some much needed extra attention. It’s usually stars we haven’t heard from in a while with nothing to lose by doing the show. There’s nothing that gives us more life than a D List celebrity attempting to dance.

This show is been a juggernaut for ABC, and that isn’t now changing anytime soon. The series has been a fan favorite since 2005 when General Hospital star Kelly Monaco samba’d to victory. Kelly powering through a wardrobe malfunction for a perfect score is still so iconic. She may have been the first, but there have been 26 winners since. Will will be the 28th? Luckily the cast is FINALLY revealed, and WHAT A LINEUP.

Extra reported about the new cast after the names were revealed on a recent episode of Good Morning America. WHAT A CAST IT IS.

Alright, let’s take a look at this eclectic group of stars for the new season. Some of the names are downright shocking!

First of all, can we talk about how sad it is that Sharna Burgess and Artem Chigvinstev aren’t returning? She WON last season with Bobby Bones, so why is she not back? We love Artem, so hopefully we will see him more on Total Bellas with girlfriend Nikki Bella

The first name catching our eye on the new cast is The Bachelorette’s Hannah Brown. If she can wrangle dozens of men vying for her attention, she can handle the dance floor. Hopefully, she scores more 10’s on here than she did on her own show.

Supermodel Christie Brinkley is joining, and at least we know she’ll look good in all of the outfits. SHE LITERALLY DOESN’T AGE. LIKE AT ALL. She may be 65, but she is a total knockout.

James Van Der Beek is competing, and our hearts can’t handle the nostalgia. Dawson’s Creek is such a classic, and we hope the former teen heart throb excels.

The most shocking name on this list is former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. Why? That’s my only thought here. How did we turn someone like him into a star worthy of this show? Is Sarah Huckabee Sanders next?

Someone that we really see excelling in the competition is Queer Eye‘s Karamo Brown. He has his finger on the pulse of pop culture, so DWTS is right up his alley. He has to be an early favorite to take home the Mirror Ball Trophy.

The Office might be leaving Netflix, but Kate Flannery is front and center back in our lives. Her Office character Meredith would fit perfectly with the sexual vibe of the rumba. JUST SAYING!

I hope you have your orange soda ready because All That‘s Kel Mitchell is dancing this season. Now THAT is nostalgia. First the show got rebooted, and now he’s dancing? Praise the 90’s splat gods!

One person that is no strange competition is country music superstar Lauren Alaina. She came in second place on a past season of American Idol, so this is like riding a bike. Maybe this time she can go one step further, and actually win. Is there a hoedown theme night this season?

Singer Mary Wilson hopes to reign supreme on DWTS this season, and she just might. If she can handle the diva behavior of Diana Ross, she can tough out this competition. She’s the oldest dancer, but she has the soul to make up for it.

Fifth Harmony might be a thing of the past, but Ally Brooke is taking a sledgehammer to her new endeavor. She can “Work From Home,” but can she work the dance floor? Looks like we are going to find out this season when she joins the cast.

Football players are notorious for excelling on DWTS, so Ray Lewis has that in his favorite right away. Super Bowl’s Lombardi trophy? Check. Dancing’s Mirror Ball Trophy? Remains to be seen. Hopefully he leaves the judges raven’ about his skills.

Finally, Khloe Kardashian’s basketball star ex husband Lamar Odom rounds out the new cast. He has had A LOT of turmoil in recent years, so this should keep him out of trouble. He needs all the distractions she can get. Plus if he can manage being a part of the Kardashian clan, he should do well with the craziness of Dancing With the Stars.

In addition to the stars, we also know which pros are returning. Extra states that, “Alan Bersten, Brandon Armstrong, Cheryl Burke, Daniella Karagach, Emma Slater, Gleb Savchenko, Jenna Johnson, Keo Motsepe, Lindsay Arnold, Pasha Pashkov, Peta Murgatroyd, Sasha Farber, Val Chmerkovskiy, and Witney Carson” are all guiding the stars.

It’s going to be a fierce competition, but only one can take home the trophy. My early bets are on Karamo or Ally! Find out who wins when Dancing With The Stars returns September 16 on ABC.
