Out of all the Real Housewives shows, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are the least open, by far. The show started out with the premise that even the wealthiest people can struggle in life. During Season 1, the cast members shared experiences infidelity, divorce, domestic violence, and substance abuse among other serious topics. Plus, there was a lot of lavish spending. It really was the perfectly balanced show. At first.
Now, each episode includes seven minutes of glam squad footage, arguments about puppies, and the refusal to talk about anything real, like plastic surgery or lawsuits. And there are a lot of lawsuits. Erika Jayne and her husband Tom Girardi have been sued for millions of dollars because of unpaid loans. To make the story even more salacious, the couple has been accused of using that money to fund their “lavish lifestyle.” It really makes you side eye the glam squad, two private plans, and in-house chapel, doesn’t it?
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Erika and Tom have requested that the $3 million lawsuit against them should be moved from a federal court to arbitration. This means that information will be sealed from the public and not a part of an RHOBH storyline. Hell, who are we kidding, even the most public lawsuit would never be a part of a Beverly Hills storyline.
Meanwhile, Teresa Giudice discussed her legal issues season after season on Real Housewives of New Jersey. New York Housewife Luann de Lesseps built a whole cabaret show around her many legal issues.

And then there are the Beverly Hills ladies who focus on promoting swimsuit lines and husband-funded pop music careers instead of sharing their personal struggles.
Nevertheless, Erika and Tom consider the lawsuit against them to be a “publicity stunt.” So, how is someone supposed to react when they loan out $3 million and see someone shopping it up on a reality television show?

The Girardis said that the lender “filed in federal court using such highly charged language as ‘lavish lifestyle’ and ‘glamorous public image’ with the goal to try to use the Court system as a publicity campaign.” But, again, how else would the lender get those funds back?
A judge has yet to rule. Will the Girardis get the drama scaled down to an arbitration? Or will the “publicity stunt” continue?
