Real Housewives of Potomac has been on fire this season! Candiace Dillard marched down the aisle to marry her man, Chris Bassett. Since then, she has spent most of her time obsessing about the state of Ashley Darby’s uterus. Ashley told the Potomac Housewives that she was giving up alcohol in order to get pregnant, but Ashley has still been imbibing. She is not pregnant yet (at least on the episodes airing now) so what is Candiace’s issue?
Ashley and her husband, Michael Darby, fought about whether to even have children. Ashley revealed during the RHOP Season 3 reunion that she had tragically suffered a miscarriage.
In February of 2019, Ashley shared the good news that there was a little joey in her pouch. I love how she gives everything an Australian spin! Their baby is due sometime in July. Michael and Ashley revealed that they are having a baby boy in a unique, and high-octane, way. Michael went skydiving and tore open a packet revealing blue powder.
The Washington Post is reporting that the couple has made the decision to close their Australian-themed restaurant, named Oz. The restaurant, which is in Clarendon, Virginia, will close its doors on June 30. The dining establishment was the setting for some crazy RHOP drama since it opened its doors in 2015. The restaurant never really reached culinary heights. Restaurant critic Maura Judkis called Oz’s food “downright lazy” and “bland.” Ouch.
In a statement, the couple said that they will be focusing on their “multiple business ventures” and their new baby. Michael is a real-estate developer, while Ashley is working on a fashion line of “athleisure” garments. “We are replacing one Aussie baby with a new Aussie baby, as we prepare to welcome our little boy,” Michael said. That is such a sweet comment.

Of course, the couple has also weathered some controversy. On September 1, 2018, Michael was charged with sexual assault for groping a male camera man’s butt. Michael was suspended from filming the show, and Ashley had her husband’s back (pun intended.) Michael was later cleared of the charges and was allowed to resume filming.
But when a drunken Michael was caught on camera complimenting a bartender’s physique at a party, Ashley defended her husband by saying that he takes great pride in his physical fitness, and doesn’t hesitate to compliment others, as well. Later, at the same party, Michael raised eyebrows when he is overheard telling a man that he would “suck his dick.” This statement was overheard by co-star Robyn Dixon and Candiace. It is unclear who Michael was talking about. They haven’t told Ashley about Michael’s comments…yet.
