Lala Kent Dishes On Brittany Cartwright Asking Her To Be A Bridesmaid After The Initial Snub

What happened to the Vanderpump Rules of seasons past, where the focus was on restaurant drama, hooking up, partying, and cheating? Gone are the days of Jax Taylor throwing down wearing a chunky sweater or Stassi Schroeder saying she is the devil. Now the focus has shifted to engagement parties and crop top wedding dresses. Andy Cohen, if you’re reading, maybe it’s finally time for a recast.

The latest Pump Rules couple who will be divorcing tying the knot are Brittany Cartwright and Jax. Brittany’s dream ever since she was a little girl was to have a fairy tale wedding, y’all. I’m sure she didn’t plan on marrying the court jester, but to each their own. This fairy tale wedding also includes 800 bridesmaids coast to coast, and Brittany made it clear to Lala Kent that she couldn’t possibly make it 801.

Lala seemed to take it in stride, and gifted the doomed couple to a free trip to Cabo on Randall Emmett’s rented PJ. No BJs required. Did Lala just out nice the queen of nice? I think she did. This act of kindness gave Brittany the vapors, and in turn, she did the right thing and asked Lala to be bridesmaid number 801.

In an interview for Bravo’s The Daily Dish podcast, Lala revealed when it happened and how she felt when Brittany asked her. I’m guessing she grabbed Brittany’s hand and had her pat her on the face to calm her down from all the excitement.

Lala said, “Off-camera she asked me, over New Year’s Eve.” I can almost hear Brittany backpedaling through mouthfuls of beer cheese, “I know I asked the entire cast, even Scheana Marie, and no one really likes her. But I can’t have you being nicer than me, so it would really be an honor to have you as a bridesmaid at me and Jaaax’s TV special wedding.”

Lala’s mom was also present for the momentous occasion and seemed more excited than she did. Lala continued, “My mom cried, you guys, because my mom was there when she asked me. And I was like, ‘Mom, why are you crying about this?’ She was like, ‘Do you know what an honor it is to be someone’s bridesmaid?’ I’m like, “Oh my god, OK, calm down.”

I think her mom is being a bit over dramatic. Lala concluded, “But it made me really happy.” I’m glad Lala’s happy and it all worked out. I’m sure next season will feature Brittany and Jax’s wedding, Lala’s engagement party, and Beau Clark proposing to Stassi. Ugh. We need that Vanderpump Cocktail Garden show stat!
