Candiace Dillard’s fabulous Real Housewives of Potomac wedding aired last week, but it’s time to move on. There’s plenty of drama on the horizon, and this week is Katie Rost’s return! Katie back in the fold assures viewers they are in for some crazy situations. Also, we get to see the next chapter in the never-ending Gizelle Bryant/Karen Huger frenemy saga.
Michael Darby’s sexual comments toward men will likely play a big part in the episode. His marriage with Ashley Darby is always clouded in mystery. Nobody knows what’s real with the two of them. The upcoming scandal is going to be very telling when it comes to the legitimacy of their relationship. I guess we’ll see!
Gizelle is kind of like Kyle Richards because they both have the same tagline recycled in different forms. We get it Gizelle, people talk about you. Kyle is always stuck on the “Beverly Hills is my town” stuff. Gizelle is always the word on the street. It’s a little different this year, but has the same effect. Move on.

The producers are not holding back with Michael this season. It’s so shady, but seems to be well deserved. After the flash forward of Michael making sexual comments toward men, we flashback one week. Ashley has her mother over, and normally that doesn’t end well. However, it looks like the family is all in a good place for the first time ever.
Her mother seems a lot more refreshed like she finally has her life together. Although, Michael is the one threatening the family dynamic if that flash forward was any indication. Not sure how well that unity will hold up after the big scandal, but we’ll see!
Karen’s mother and father passing away is SO heartbreaking. It’s devastating but at the same time, it’s the most raw and real that we see Karen. A lot of times it feels like she puts up a facade for the cameras, but this is bare bones real. Picking out the headstone is a very final moment in the grieving process, and it’s heart-wrenching.
There’s so much about Karen that comes across manufactured, but she can’t fake this. It’s also so crazy to think that her husband was just a few years younger than her father. Real Housewives LOVE their older men!
My favorite thing is a Housewives therapy session. That is REALLY putting it all out there. Not surprising that Gizelle would be the one to do that. It’s crazy to think that Gizelle is JUST NOW realizing she needs to cut Sherman Douglas out of her life. If this man can’t accept ALL of you, it’s time to move on.

Gizelle says she is terminating all relationships in her life, but last week did the opposite. At the wedding she accepted Monique Samuels’ apology and even tried to make amends with The Grand Dame. Sometimes it appears like Gizelle just says whatever sounds right for the camera at that specific time.
Chris Bassett shading Candiace about how he has to work was hilarious. I wonder how she feels about EVERYONE on the planet thinking she can’t provide for herself. Opening their gifts was a little blah but, they had such a fabulous wedding. It was the over the top spectacle that you’d expect after seeing Candiace even just one time. Extra! Extra!
I’m glad to see Candiace’s mom fade away for a bit because that was really dominating her story. She needs the opportunity to prove she’s a woman capable of fending for herself. Plus, there’s something unsettling about the way her mom degrades her. It’s not the Momma Dorothy show!
Monique comes off as SUCH a great mom. She’s very dedicated to her children and does it with loads of humor. There’s a ton of chaos around her, but she makes parenting look fun. That’s sometimes a tall task to do. Her storyline is a little one dimensional right now and just all motherhood all the time. She needs to be messy Monique that we love, and dive into the drama. The umbrella moment last season showed what she’s capable of.

OH GOODNESS. Katie is back. Gizelle says she is repairing relationships from the past and reconnecting, but why Katie? I don’t know. It just seemed like Katie was fine where she was; off the show.
The music in the background during Katie’s arrival was SO DRAMATIC. They made it sound like she was a comic book villain coming to wreak havoc. Maybe Katie is the new Thanos. Katie has a 27-year-old boyfriend, and good for her! Some ladies like older men, some ladies like younger men. Do you, boo. Gizelle thinks everyone will be excited to see Katie, and I think Gizelle is delusional.
Why is Robyn Dixon still here? Honestly. What does Robyn add to the show that someone else couldn’t? Robyn is still remodeling the same house from last year. What could possibly be taking so long. Juan Dixon seemed just as confused as I am about the lack of progress. Instead of making us watch you massage Juan, maybe you should finish that house. Yawn.
Ashley is at her restaurant and she meets up with Candiace for lunch and drinks? I thought Ashley wasn’t drinking anymore, but alright. She’s sitting there drinking a Corona, but we will pretend she is sober.
These two ladies have a weird dynamic because you can tell they don’t like each other. Ashley tells Candiace that she stopped drinking, but is drinking during the same lunch. Again, it’s so hard to take anything Ashley says seriously.

Karen saging the house before Gizelle arrives is belly laugh level funny. GIZELLE IS MESSY BUT SHE ISN’T A DEMON! Karen reminds me so much of Mariah Carey and I live for her diva antics. It’s annoying that Karen finally lets Gizelle in the house and she questions her still.
How long will she keep implying that Karen doesn’t live in the home? However, there doesn’t seem to be many personal touches to the home. It looks more like an untouched museum.
Gizelle isn’t me though. She is Karen’s alleged friend so she should have her back. Gizelle is really going for the EXTRA marathon with this reconnection tour. First Katie and now Karen. Karen implies in her interview that Sherman cheated on Gizelle, and I feel bad for Gizelle again. She was genuinely upset when he ditched her before the wedding. I wish they’d stop bringing him up.
We learn that Gizelle uses her removal on her down there places, and Karen regrets removing implants. Two places on two women I don’t want to think about that way EVER. So much ew this season.
Most of the women arrive to support Ashley’s uncle’s birthday. Michael’s outfit is too much. 90’s is one thing, but that outfit was just too much. Ashley seems nervous about her uncle and Michael, which is probably because of Michael’s creepy vibe. Monique and Karen elect to not attend the event because they aren’t in THAT place yet with Ashley.
Michael is really wasted at this party and confused about where all the men are. At this point, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say it’s because he doesn’t want to be the only guy. That’ll be my opinion. For now.

This is now the second time Candiace has seen Ashley drinking despite saying she’s not. How serious is she taking her fertility journey? Not very by the looks of it so far.
Michael continues complimenting the male bartender on his looks. It’s slowly (very quickly) getting weirder for Michael. These are a lot of bizarre comments to make in a row. DRUNK WORDS ARE SOBER THOUGHTS!
Katie arrives and makes remarks about how she would’ve warned Candiace against marriage if they met sooner. It’s safe to assume that won’t go over well with the newlywed beauty queen. Nobody seems thrilled about Katie’s return besides Katie herself. Even Gizelle looks like she’s questioning her decision to bring her back.
Ashley expresses that she’s happy her family is finally on track, but it’s awkward knowing it might not last. CURSE PRODUCTION FOR SHOWING THE FLASH FORWARD. I should be excited for Ashley, but I’m cringing instead.
FOUR HOURS LATER FLASH FORWARD OMG. Robyn shows all of the women partying late into the night and having a great time. Then she reveals Michael told a man that he would “suck his dick” and I’m shook.
I’m thankful because now Robyn can have a storyline, but she says she’s going to pretend she didn’t hear it. This looks like the beginning of a major story within the group, and I don’t know how Ashley will react.
