Tom Sandoval was not shy about sharing his opinions during Season 7 of Vanderpump Rules. From defending James Kennedy, to calling Katie Maloney a bully, Tom didn’t really back down when it came to voicing his thoughts. Even when it meant going against best friends, Jax Taylor and Tom Schwartz, Sandoval pretty much held his ground during several disputes.
During the reunion taping, Tom 1 once again found himself defending James. Jax and the DJ discussed their differences rationally almost came to blows multiple times. Tom 1 consistently stuck up for James and his girlfriend, Raquel Leviss. At one point, Brittany Cartwright screamed at Tom because he wasn’t siding with Jax in the debates. Fans were wondering what, if any, impact this would have on Tom 1’s role as best man when Jax and Brittany seal their doom get married later this summer.
I know you guys were worried about this, but I’m here to soothe your concerns. Despite some tension at the Season 7 reunion, Tom 1 will still function as Jax’s best man during his upcoming wedding. During an April 2019 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Stassi Schroeder blabbed to Andy Cohen that maybe Tom 1 no longer held that special title as a result of the reunion bitch fest.
Thankfully, Us Weekly caught up with Tom 1 at the Daytime Emmy Awards and gave us the relief we needed. “I just always hope that people have an open mind and never makeup their minds ahead of time,” he told Us about the reunion. “Have an open mind and hear everybody out, try to see everybody’s side of the story, put yourself in everybody’s shoes and go from there because everybody has a reason for feeling a certain way,” Tom explained.

Tom went on to say, the reunion is “extra ratchet” compared to past seasons. “I feel pretty dirty about it,” he admitted. “I lost a little bit of my soul that day. Compared to other reunions this one is up there.” As we know, Tom’s girlfriend Ariana Madix has not been shy about complaining allowing her voice to be heard either.
But rest assured, Tom 1 will continue to stand by Jax’s side, to prop him up along with Schwartz on the holiest of days, The Sacred Mashed Potato Buffet Wedding. Every female that has ever appeared on Vanderpump Rules is in the bridal party. I’m just kidding, it only seems that way. But Brittany named nearly all of her female co-stars as bridesmaids.

We watched #freebrittany put Stassi, Ariana, Kristen Doute and Scheana Marie in the wedding party on an April episode of Pump Rules. In addition to naming Katie old lady, I’m sorry, matron of honor, Brittany added Lala Kent to her bridal party after the series wrapped. So Lala got in after all, how unexpected.
I can’t wait to see this group haul themselves to Kentucky for the royal wedding. This has spin-off written all over it, #redneckweddingsbybravo.
