I think we all know the ladies of Vanderpump Rules don’t always take kindly to the introduction of new “friends”. With the exception of Brittany Cartwright. But I think that’s because the ladies feel dating Jax Taylor is punishment enough.
One of the latest newcomers, Billie Lee, has fallen into the crosshairs of former queen bee Stassi Schroeder. (I say former because I feel the ladies have outgrown the hierarchy of their threesome) And in true Stassi fashion, she is not mincing words.
According to an article in TooFab, Stassi sat down with Jenny McCarthy to talk about the relationship of the original members and the newcomers. McCarthy asked if Stassi ever felt the need to “act out” or “start a fight” in order to get more screen time. “I don’t feel like any of the original cast members have to prove themselves,” Stassi replied. She went on to talk about how they are all such “great friends” and have a “history” together.
One of the reasons I feel Pump Rules does so well is because the cast were friends prior to the show filming. Although there have been times the relationships have felt a little incestuous because I’m pretty sure all of them have hooked up at some point. It’s like the game six degrees of separation. But with penicillin.
It has to be difficult for anyone new coming in, and Stassi admits that it “must suck” for them to try and fit in with the group. However, this is Stassi. She is not about to bring out the chamomile tea, and teddy bear, to comfort those who may feel like outcasts. “They come in and they think they’re about to be a star,” she explained, “You have no idea what’s coming for you.”
We’ve seen Stassi, Katie Maloney-Schwartz, and Kristen Doute gang up on Scheana Shay when she first started filming. Then they went after Lala Kent. Lately, it’s been Billie Lee they’ve had more than a few issues with. And Billie hasn’t been shy about speaking out against them.
When McCarthy asked who is trying to force their way into the limelight, Stassi does not hesitate to throw Billie under the bus. “It’s just the things she tries to fight about are ridiculous,” she said.
Now, if Billie was genuinely trying to be friends, Stassi feels the reception would be a little warmer. “If she was actually nice…I think she would [fit in],” she explained, “but to just expect to be invited to every little thing we do..and pitch a fit when you’re not [invited]…You just met us, so no, you’re not coming to my little four-girl-wine night.”
Billie caught wind of Stassi’s comments and had a few of her own which she shared with People. “I’ve never fought with Stassi,” she replied, “and I for sure never tried to be BFF’s with her.” Billie was not pleased that Stassi referred to her fights as “ridiculous.” Wait a minute. Let me grab my soapbox. Ok, here we go. “It’s ridiculous to want to be included?” Billie continued, “It’s ridiculous to want diversity and inclusion at the workplace? Shame on her.”
I’m going to have to agree with Stassi on this one. I think Billie starts fights to get more screen time. I also think she is trying to turn girls being bitchy into a political statement. And along with her clinger ons co-horts, James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss, are trying to force their way into this group. Which isn’t going to happen.
