The Hills: New Beginnings is in need of some reshoots and the cast is not happy about it. Network insiders have said that the stars would have to commit an additional three months of their time to complete the process, and though the cast is made up of reality TV alums, the group was not anticipating the additional commitment.
The comeback of the hit reality show The Hills features most of its original cast with some new faces as well. Brody Jenner, Stephanie Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Frankie Delgado, and Justin Bobby Brescia will be accompanied by villainous couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.
According to an article by Page Six, the show alums “used to have fun” filming the original series. Now, things are different. Here’s what Page Six reported, “[the showrunners] want to shoot for three more months but the cast doesn’t want to. It’s a standstill. They wrapped Season 1 at the end of last year and did pick-up shots in January. Now, they’re reopening up filming and the cast all has lives that they need to move on with.”

Production issues aside, what will this reboot be without the return of its original leading ladies? Neither Lauren Conrad nor Kristin Cavallari will be featured, though Kristin would “love” a cameo. She had obligations with her own reality show Very Cavallari.
Somehow, none of the ladies have that wow factor to step in, though Mischa Barton is joining the cast and she starred in The OC. Perhaps she will be carrying most of the scenes. The other new face is Brandon Lee, son of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. Will he be in Brody’s entourage or have a leading man position of his own?
The Hills: New Beginnings is scheduled to premiere this summer, almost a year since the project was announced in August.
