It’s been a rough season for NeNe Leakes on Real Housewives of Atlanta. She’s been caring for her husband Gregg Leakes as he struggles with colon cancer. And, clearly, she’s having a rough time. NeNe could even be projecting her situation onto the other ladies. In all honesty, that’s the most likely scenario.
She picked a fight with Tanya Sam over sunglasses during the Destin trip. She questioned Tanya’s relationship during the Tokyo trip. It seemed like maybe she just didn’t do well traveling, but she brought her ridiculous antics back to the ATL as well. She flipped out at Porsha Williams and Kandi Burruss for going into her closet. She even ripped a shirt off a cameraman and allegedly pulled off Porsha’s belt. Yep, a pregnant woman’s belt. Then, she made Eva Marcille’s wedding about her by telling Cynthia Bailey that she and Gregg might separate. Now, she’s talking shit about her own man. Again.
NeNe discussed Gregg’s cancer diagnosis in a video obtained by People. She theorized about why Gregg has cancer.
She explained, “As a caretaker, you start — it depends on where your relationship is. You look at the person and think about, you know people love to say, ‘Karma is a bitch’ and karma this and karma that. Honest to God, I’m giving y’all the raw, raw, raw. You look at the person and be like, ‘What is that?’ Now, that ain’t right, right? But you’re human.” Yes, she actually thinks that Gregg had enough bad karma to deserve getting cancer.

Then, she got very specific about why she thinks Gregg’s karma is so bad. She theorized, “You look at the person and say, ‘You did so many different things to me. Is this the payback?’ You hope not. I’m taking about a caretaker, caretaker. ‘Maybe you’re getting it back from that time you cheated on me.’ You don’t never know. You don’t ever know.” Wait. What? When did Gregg cheat on her? As a self-proclaimed Real Housewives historian, this is pretty shocking news.
NeNe added, “But as a caretaker, these are the thoughts that go through your head because the medication got them on a roller coaster ride, and they lash out on you. It’s a lot, it’s a lot.”

Does anyone actually “deserve” to get cancer? Are these actual typical thoughts that a caretaker actually has? Or is NeNe just trying to gain some sympathy after a rough season? After all, she has faced a lot of criticism for her behavior.
