Unfortunately, Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter has had an eventful 2019 so far, but not in a good way. First of all, Gina was arrested for a driving under the influence and taken to a Santa Ana jail. Also, Gina was stopped again when she was caught using her cell phone while driving. Consequently, that driving infraction cost the Long Island native a whopping $160.
Come on Gina! That is so dangerous! Perhaps you should start car-pooling with Tamra Judge or Emily Simpson if you don’t want to call Uber.
On February 28, 2019, Gina failed to appear in Orange County Superior Court for her DUI charges. That was a shock. According to an article in The Blast, a warrant for Gina’s arrest was issued because she failed to grace the court with her presence appear. Is Gina hoping to snag the title of the RHOC’s biggest law-breaking bad-ass?
An article in Page Six reports that Gina is no longer driving running from the law, and she is no longer listed as a fugitive. A source alleged that Gina’s attorney had filed documents requesting that the DUI case be postponed. Apparently, the papers were filed incorrectly, which led to some sort of “miscommunication” with the court. Now, Gina is scheduled to appear in court on April 16, 2019. She has also retained a new attorney. Well, that sounds like a good decision!

Gina took to Instagram to share her feelings after her arrest. She posted a picture of the words “The Best Apology Is Changed Behavior.” She said, “Bad choices have bad consequences. Mine are magnified bc I chose to share my life with you on a very public stage.”
Gina also mentioned that she frequently uses car-share services. “I am disappointed in myself and that I am a part of this social norm. Especially since everyone who knows me knows I’m the queen of Uber/Lyft,” Gina explained. “This didn’t happen to me. I wasn’t “unlucky” I made a conscious decision to do something epically stupid.”
It sounds like Gina is taking responsibility for her actions. “I make this promise to each one of you with your messages in my heart…. I am committed to this cause and hope to effect a positive change and dialogue. You don’t have to believe me with these words, but I hope over time you will see through my actions,” she concluded.

Gina probably shouldn’t ask her soon-to-be ex-husband, MattKirschenheiter, for a ride, either. The same article in Page Six stated that he was stopped by police in February for failing to obey a traffic sign. Perhaps this duo both need some additional driving classes?
I am hoping that Gina can stop her dangerous driving habits and concentrate once again on having the most peaceful divorce in RHOC history. Or decorating her casita. Or finding a new man to drive her around. I guess we will need to see how Gina’s co-stars react to the news on Season 14 of Real Housewives of Orange County. But ultimately, there is just no excuse for drinking and driving, and hopefully, Gina has learned her lesson.
