As far as Real Housewives divorces go, the split between Shannon Beador and David Beador is one of the longest. And ugliest. Certainly trumping her friend Vicki Gunvalson’s split from Donn Gunvalson. And rivaling the years-long divorce drama of her Real Housewives of Orange County bestie Tamra Judge and ex Simon Barney.
Since filing for divorce in December of 2017, the former couple has been battling it out in court. Over everything from spousal support to custody matters related to their three daughters. There currently seems to be no end in sight to the conclusion of the former couple’s divorce negotiations. And now David claims that Shannon’s income is much higher than his. He is asking to have his support payments lowered.
In court documents obtained by The Blast, David alleges that Shannon made $1.4 million dollars in 2018. And that he only made a paltry $500,000. This financial revelation was part of David’s continuing request to have his $22,500 a month support payment to Shannon lowered. Last season, viewers saw Shannon actually request that the judge in the case lower the amount from $30,000 a month as David was so angry about it.
David further claims that Shannon earned over $801,378 last year and was paid an additional court-ordered $238,500 from Beador Construction. He believes that Shannon made between $1.35 and $1.4 million in total for 2018. We all know that money doesn’t go as far in the OC as it does in the rest of the country. Still, the average person, even in Orange County, should be able to live quite well on those amounts!
And that is not all. David also believes that Shannon made additional money from QVC appearances and other sponsorship deals that have yet to be accounted for. I guess it is better to have too many sources of income rather than too few.

According to The Blast, Shannon filed her own documents in response. She claims to spend $30,235 a month to support her lifestyle. This includes $12,000 a month on rent, $2,300 on groceries and $1,625 a month on dining out.
OK-almost $4,000 a month on food? I wonder how much it costs to have nine organic lemons in a bowl. Apparently A LOT in the OC. And I guess QVC must not give Shannon any free samples of her Real for Real Cuisine! She also claims she will owe an estimated $275,000 in taxes on that very same cuisine.
This ongoing drama should come as no surprise to viewers of the Real Housewives of Orange County. David and Shannon couldn’t seem to agree on anything in their marriage-from healing from David’s affair to when he could or could not eat tortilla chips. Would anyone really expect that they could agree on the terms of a divorce?
We were not about to get one of those Hollywood divorce endings out of these two. You know the kind-with a divorce statement issued by publicists-“Although we are ending this phase of our marriage, we will continue to love and support each other and remain best friends as we consciously uncouple.” Not the Beadors!
Divorce is one of the most challenging life experiences anyone can go through. And until it is finalized, it must be difficult to truly move on. Here’s hoping that Shannon and David are able to eventually come to an agreement they both can be satisfied with. And move on from this ongoing saga.
