Didn’t Season 13 of the Real Housewives of Orange County just end? It seems like I just cleared the episodes from my DVR. And now, there is already talk of the new season. While Housewives are on hiatus, there is always a lot of chit-chat about who will return. Will there be new cast members? Will everyone be back? Some of it is gossip, some of it is fueled by the media-friendly ladies themselves.
Now, there are updates on Season 14-yes, Season 14! A new cast member has reportedly been added to the mix. And there is speculation on the status of the OG of the OG’s, Vicki Gunvalson.
The new season of the Real Housewives of Orange County has started filming. According to US Weekly sources, a new cast member has been added. She is Braunwyn Windham-Burke from Laguna Beach. Braunwyn is married to Channelstars President and Founder Sean Burke. She is also the mother of 7(!) kids. She writes a lifestyle blog called Barefoot in Heels. No word yet on her connection(s) to current cast members.
It is unknown if Braunwyn is replacing someone from last season or if she is an additional member. My bet would be on the latter, as the news of a booted housewife spreads faster than a test-driven (for filming purposes!) Lamborghini.
More surprisingly, Vicki has not started filming with the rest of the cast, according to a source in the US Weekly article. Vicki replied to a tweet over the weekend regarding her current Housewife status: “Unless you hear it from me, then its simply a rumor. I am in negotiations.” Which in Housewife speak, could mean almost anything. From actually being in negotiations to being demoted to a Friend of status. Or worse. However, still being in negotiations when the season has already started filming sounds a bit suspicious.

Vicki has always been very proud of her Housewife role-and very territorial about her OG status. And from her divorce from Donn Gunvalson to the never-ending Brooks Ayers saga, Vicki knows how to bring it. For better or worse. She even made amends last season with former BFF’s Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador who re-branded themselves as the Tres (Drunken) Amigas.
Above all, an OC without the OG would be difficult to imagine. Love her or love to hate her, Vicki has been the longest standing Housewife. Imagining the OC without her would be like an OC without Disneyland. Or miles of beautiful beaches. Or hundreds of cosmetic surgery centers (which Vicki is proud to support!).
