A lot of people forget that Below Deck is more than just a reality TV show. The cast members are real people, just like anyone else. They’re not actors playing characters. With that said, there is a lot of pressure and scrutiny on Caroline Bedol.
She used to be the Third Stew on Below Deck. However, she got fired in the middle of the season after several charters full of drama. Even though she’s not on the show anymore, she’s still very much in the spotlight, at least among the fandom. Now she’s dealing with some very serious drama, especially in comparison to foot injuries and broken champagne flutes.
According to an article from People, police went to Caroline’s home in Connecticut to conduct a welfare check. People confirmed this with the Norwalk Police Department. Even though the news just broke, the officers showed up at Caroline’s house on December 9, 2018. Apparently, the arrived in response to a “suicidal tweet.”
Caroline called out Bravo in a tweet. On January 9, she wrote, “Consider making unsubstantiated claims to police so they come to my house & conduct a wellness “che- oh wait, you did. Maybe…@ Bravo; Offer them valuable insight into my mental hea-oh wait…” Is this her way of insinuating that the network had something to do with law enforcement going to her home?

In a follow-up tweet, Caroline wrote, “Correction: the wellness check happened because the police were told i was suicidal. By a stranger from twitter. Nice to see you are amused I guess.”
In another tweet, Caroline insisted, “I do. I do want to stay in this place. I need to. This battle needs to be fought, the truth needs to be protected, and the principles of ethical human conduct need to be defended.”

Sure, it’s easy to poke fun at reality TV antics, but this is reality. It is not reality TV. Let’s just hope that life is better for Caroline these days.
