After two very rocky seasons, Kandi Burruss and Porsha Williams are trying to be cordial. They are far from being besties, but things are lot better between them these days. Porsha’s new man Dennis McKinley told Porsha that he goes to Kandi’s restaurant Old Lady Gang once a week. This shocked Porsha. I cannot wait to see Dennis and Kandi’s first interaction. That’s going to be… interesting, but most likely awkward.
At this point in the season, Kandi hasn’t told Porsha that she knows Dennis through other women he has dated. However, she did caution Porsha against moving too quickly in the relationship. Too little, too late for that one. Mere months into their relationship, Porsha and Dennis looked at engagement rings. Porsha even tried to share a toothbrush with the man, something that did not sit well with the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast. At all.
Kandi explained why she gave Porsha dating advice in a Bravo blog post. She wrote, “Porsha and I were just starting to get on the right foot. I didn’t want to say too much, but I did feel like I should tell her to take her time. In the past, she’s been known to get serious quickly with some guys who didn’t necessarily deserve that from her.” This makes a lot of sense, especially at that time, but now that Porsha is engaged with a baby on the way, it is a rather moot point.

Aside from Porsha moving debatably fast in this relationship, Kandi has some other tea on Dennis. She explained, “In this case, I already heard some things about Dennis, but I didn’t feel like she and I were in a place where she would receive any negative information well coming from me. So instead of telling her anything bad, I felt that I should at least tell her to take her time and not push the relationship too quickly.”
That was definitely the best strategy to take, but Porsha just wasn’t listening. She really had her eyes on the prize, i.e. the engagement ring. Nothing was stopping her from getting that rock and her happily ever after.
The conversation between Kandi and Porsha was not that dramatic. We have definitely seen more heated discussions between these two throughout the years. The most difficult part of the episode had nothing to do with Kandi and Porsha’s residual tension.
NeNe Leakes’ husband Gregg Leakes, who has been suffering with cancer, got overwhelmed by the crowd at her store opening. He went outside for some air and the Atlanta Housewives gathered around him to boost his morale. They fanned him, gave him water, and told him jokes.
Kandi confessed, “Seeing Gregg struggle hurts. I’m so used to him brightening up the room when he walks in. Gregg is normally the one who lifts everybody up, but now it’s time for us all to be there for him and lift him up.” Normally, I tune into this show for the drama, but it was genuinely touching to see the ladies unite for Gregg.
