Production needs to give Emily Simpson’s husband Shane Simpson an orange to hold up during the opening credits. He has contributed more to this season of Real Housewives of Orange County than some of the actual Housewives. Sure, he’s rubbed pretty much every viewer the wrong way, but at least he’s given us something to talk about thanks to his war of words with Kelly Dodd.
Kelly discussed her instantly infamous argument with Shane and her attempt to make peace with him in the following episode during last night’s Watch What Happens Live.
It really seemed like Kelly has matured going over to the Simpson household to talk with Shane. Well, as much as a person can mature after calling someone a “little bitch” the first time they met. Then again, that was definitely the most entertaining moment of the season, so #TeamKelly.
Andy Cohen asked Kelly, “After that apology, did you feel better about him?” As per usual, Kelly kept it real and admitted, “No, I didn’t.”
Kelly told Andy, “I did it just to suck it up because I love the mom, Pary. I love her and I really do like Emily. She’s been very nice to me.” She also told Andy, “He was just rude to me.” He really was, but even Andy admitted, “I couldn’t tell if he was trying to be sarcastic.” Same here, Andy. Best case scenario, I just didn’t understand his sense of humor. The more likely scenario, Shane was just super condescending to Kelly.
Emily Simpson Is “Not Proud Of The Words” Used Against Kelly Dodd; Defends Husband Shane For Getting Involved In Argument With Kelly Dodd
One caller had a pretty hilarious question for Kelly: “What did you think when you watched the episode and saw that you met Shane thirty minutes prior to your fight?” The editors were so brilliantly shady with those timestamped flashbacks.
Kelly explained where she was coming from that night: “I was at Tamra’s [Judge] house. She just rebuilt it. I was looking at everything. I met a million people inside where we first walked in. I don’t think I heard ‘This is my husband.’ I think I heard ‘This is Shane‘ and I was like ‘Hi, nice to meet you.’ If she had said, ‘This is my husband Shane and I really heard it….” I wasn’t paying attention at all.”
Kelly added, “At least I get to explain myself, everyone does that.” To be fair, she probably does meet a lot of people as a Real Housewife, but it’s just too funny to watch as a viewer.
Another caller asked Kelly about her reaction to Vicki Gunvalson referring to her as a “gold digger” during last week’s episode of Watch What Happens Live. She answered, “Dude, I’m all about the thrills and not about the bills” and pointed to her hookup/friend with benefits/milk man who was standing behind the bar.
