When Tamra Judge is the person in a scene with the most social tact, you know there is something going terribly awry. I’m looking at you Lydia McLaughlin and Shannon Beador, for the pot stirring and screaming, respectively. As per usual the topic at hand was Vicki Gunvalson and unfortunately it all went down at a toddler’s birthday party.
It’s completely understandable why Shannon would hate Vicki. There’s the whole fake cancer thing. In the midst of that, Vicki talked about Shannon’s husband’s affair before anyone else on the show knew about it. And then Vicki accused David Beador of abusing Shannon. So obviously Shannon doesn’t want to be friends with Vicki, but she has to interact with her and talk about her since they’re both on the same show.
As expected, Shannon defended herself in her Bravo blog post. She recalled, “Within the first 30 seconds of meeting Lydia, she felt compelled to bring up the fact that she spent time with Vicki. I found that odd and still do.” As would any normal person, but Lydia is really trying to earn her keep this time around and she’s doing the most to have a story line.
Shannon continued, “Lydia was completely aware that there is a not-so-pleasant history between Vicki and I, yet Lydia chose to bring ‘the update that Vicki gave her’ right up when meeting me for the first time. I think that was quite inappropriate and rude.” It definitely was, but Shannon took the confrontation to a whole other level with her reaction.
Shannon explained, “As Tamra and I sat down to have a conversation with Lydia, she brought Vicki up again. Tamra said that we didn’t want to discuss Vicki based on our histories with her, yet Lydia would not stop. I did not yell at Lydia. I spoke firmly, directly and passionately. I do regret that I pointed my finger, but I was definitely not screaming as Lydia alleged.” Did we not watch the same episode, Shannon? Nevertheless, I completely understand why Shannon flipped the f*** out, but she can’t go around denying that she did so.
Shannon called out the self-proclaimed “Friendship Whisperer”: “In her interview, Lydia said I took ‘crazy pills’ and was an ‘evil witch,’ all within ten minutes of meeting me??? Wow. Those are pretty cruel things to say. You didn’t hear me making any derogatory comments about Lydia. Especially when she just wouldn’t stop talking about a person Tamra and I had no desire to talk about.” Lydia really loves to play the innocent role- is she actually trying to help though? I guess we will see as the episodes go on, but at this moment Lydia seems like a massive shit stirrer and Shannon needs to take a breath and count to ten… or twenty.. or one hundred. Just something to calm down a teeny bit.
Shannon wrote, “And then to hear Lydia’s mother labelled me a ‘lost soul’ after our 3 minute conversation??? I get to know people before I start to judge them.”
She concluded, “Never did I expect to be pushed and prodded at a 2 year old’s birthday party. It looks like Lydia might be a pot stirrer. Tune in next week for more evidence of that.” Yep: Lydia being a pot stirrer and Shannon screaming at Kelly Dodd in a restaurant. It looks like must-see TV to me.
