Patti Stanger sure knows how to pick’em. Has the self-proclaimed Millionaire Matchmaker ever made a successful match?! In the latest bit of bad publicity to plague the now canceled show, one of Patti’s former millionaires has been charged with battery against a woman.
John Bonavia appeared on MM in March 2014 and was described as a financial advisor worth more than $1 million. The former model was stuck in the party boy mentality and running in a wealthy Hollywood circle. As he turned 30, John was ready to settle down and Patti hope to find him a woman who would encourage him to grow up. Guess that didn’t turn out to well!

On September 12th John was arrested for attempted murder by the Beverly Hills Police Department after neighbors called the police when they heard screaming and pounding coming from his house.
Law Enforcement told TMZ when the cops arrived John was “uncooperative” and wouldn’t voluntarily open the door so they forced their way in. Upon entry they found a woman whose face was battered and bloody! John was arrested on the spot for attempted murder, but the DA later charged him with felony injury to a cohabitant and making criminal threats.
Unfortunately this isn’t John’s first domestic violence arrest. In May 2014 – a couple months after his episode of MM aired – he was arrested when his then-girlfriend accused him of biting, punching, and chocking her! John’s ex told police he broke into her West Hollywood apartment while drunk and assaulted her. Police reports also state that John repeatedly told the woman he was going to kill her. In 2013 he was arrested for being drunk and disorderly in public while in Arlington, VA.

Even worse, earlier this month a different former MM contestant was charged with multiple rape counts and 2 counts of administering drugs to commit rape. I’d say it’s a good thing MM has ended it’s lengthy run, because it seems like the contestant screening is as successful as the matchmaking!
