Perennially struggling business owner Peter Thomas has been hit with yet another eviction notice for non-payment. After moving Bar One in the wake of financial issues and delaying the reopening indefinitely, Peter and his business partner/wife Cynthia Bailey are already behind on rent!
Court documents seeking to evict Peter and Cynthia’s Bar One demonstrate that the Real Housewives Of Atlanta couple owed $1869 for back rent and fines on the Auburn Avenue location. Bar One Atlanta moved locations last year and has been promising a reopening since January 2015 – but in fact the bar has never actually opened its doors! Instead Cynthia and Peter have just been renting the space while ostensibly renovating and apparently they’re running out of money.

Radar Online, who obtained a copy of the court paperwork, reports that in order for Peter to keep his lease at the Atlanta location the landlord was demanding $1,500 for June rent, plus $250 in late fees and another $119 for the cost of court filing fees. Straight From The A learned from the landlord that Peter did pony up the money but only because the building is under construction and he would face bigger legal issues by getting evicted from a property he made unusable.
Apparently Peter also decided to pay because he’s planning to finally re-open Bar One in the fall. Conveniently while RHOA cameras are rolling which makes me wonder if BRAVO paid Peter’s back rent in order to salvage a storyline! Or possibly Cynthidumb just paid it with the proceeds from her super illustrious sunglasses company.

Peter also owns Sports One in Charlotte, NC with business partner Kordell Stewart – so far there haven’t been any reports of sleazy financial dealings. Peter also recently announced on Instagram that he is opening a second Bar One location but in Charlotte, NC. And I thought Kordell was dumb for marrying Porsha…

In addition to this financial calamity Peter is also battling a $100,000 lawsuit for “breach of lease agreement” because Peter failed to pay rent and other fees, including later fees, bank charges, unpaid utilities, and real estate property tax, on the previous Bar One location, as well as the property Cynthia was using for The Bailey Agency, which has also relocated. Peter also attempted to file bankruptcy but was denied.
Peter blamed a bitter landlord who was facing foreclosure on the original Bar One property. So far Peter has remained mum on twitter about this latest financial drama.
