Olive green & gray is the New Black for Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice, who’s traded borrowed designer dresses for standard-issue prison jumpsuits these past 4 months in the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut. Rumors recently surfaced that Teresa was showcasing her “diva-like” behavior while in prison, seeking special treatment and not complying with prison protocol.
Nothing could be further from the truth, says Giudice’s lawyer James J. Leonard Jr. “Any reports that she is behaving like a diva in prison and not getting along with inmates and the staff is 1,000 percent false,” he says. “She is getting along well with everyone – staff, inmates – all the way down the line.”
“Prison is all about establishing and maintaining a routine, and she has done that,” says Leonard. “She has adapted well.” Adaptation to prison life, for Teresa, has included making new friends, working in the kitchen, teaching exercise classes, and learning how to carve a shank out of a toothbrush (OK, one of these facts is false). “She is helping to teach exercise classes,” says Leonard, “The women take turns leading classes and she has her little group, so once in a while she takes the lead.”
Her knowledge of cooking and “ingredientzes” has also paid off in prison. Leonard tells us, “Teresa has a job working in the kitchen. She told me she enjoys it because it helps her pass the time and allows her to interact with the other inmates.” He adds, “Plus, she loves being in the kitchen, because it reminds her of home.”
Teresa will be released for “home confinement” Dec. 23 until her sentence is finished in early February. Will she return to her home that’s going into foreclosure? Or her home that’s being auctioned off for starting bids of 100 bucks? Perhaps she’ll teach exercise and cooking classes from the luxury stylings of a flat-bed truck as it circles Montville, NJ, looking for a place to dump her last remaining sticks of gold-lame’ furniture? It’s anyone’s guess what the future holds!
